As I said, I would like to be able to split some groups from one account and move them to another account without moving all of them.
Lawrence -- It is possible to post messages to a group using an alternate address, by setting up an email alias. But if you want to receive messages from those groups, the only way to do that here is to join with the new email address and unsubscribe with the old one.

The problem is probably that I was used to being able to do that easily in the Yahoo Groups so I was hoping to be able to do the same here.
In groups.io, your email address IS your account identifier.

One advantage of doing it that way is you don't need to set up a separate account identifer/user ID within groups.io -- if you have an email address, you already have one. It also allows groups.io to do the "email me a link to log in" thing if you don't want to (or simply never get around to) setting up a password.

The main downside to all that is what you have encountered. Frankly, trying to use more than one email address here can be quite inconvenient. After a few times of finding yourself unable to access group content because you're logged in under the wrong address, I suspect you will end up merging these accounts again.
