Re: reading exported Groups.io group data

Ah, there it is! I could open all those easily with Notepad, and the photo with GIMP. Thank you, Duane.

Of course the files are not actually readable in Notepad, with all the various code interspersed (unless you're a coder, I'm sure, but alas, I'm just a baby geek who doesn't know how to do that).

I seem to remember that MBOX is a format accessible through one of the mail clients, like Thunderbird. If that's correct, can anyone tell me how I would open such files in a mail client? Years ago I transferred what I believe were MBOX files between two versions of Thunderbird, but it was somewhat complex, and I have no clear memory of how I did that, and don't think it would be relevant to just plain files like this, since it involved transferring between email accounts..

I assume the JSON files would also be readable without the code in some program, but other than a mail client? I've never worked with that format, ever, but I thought someone had mentioned somewhere that there is some kind of a viewer that can display the data without the code.

Very nice to have that option in Groups.io. I think all of our lives would be much easier right now if Yahoo had allowed the downloading of group messages all along.
