Direct add members under a $10 mothly payment?? I cannot see any details of that
facility or how to use it. Can you advise.

If you go to
Admin>Upgrade and click the "View/Change Plan" button, there are options
for Premium Yearly or Premium Monthly.
You might find a month of
Premium handy if you want to Direct Add subscribers to your group without
going through the invitation process. It is also a lot cheaper ($10 vs
$110).
However, if you want groups.io to attempt to move your message
archive, files and photos and so on (in addition to your subscribers), you
have to pay the $110. This payment also allows you to re-try the transfer
later if some content doesn't make it over, due to ongoing Yahoo server
issues.
The money has to be paid up-front and there are no
refunds.
