When I checked the group settings I do? not see any restriction on filetype or file size.? What am I missing?
One group of which I am a member has an on - line archive hosted elsewhere; a small number of the files on it are large, say in excess of 25 MB; some are 75 MB. It is commonly reported that some members have problems with downloads failing because something along the route goes wrong during the download and corrupts the document, (Everything is in pdf.) The speed of any download seems to be consistently rather slower than one might expect; much slower than anything revealed in a speed test. Unsurprisingly the hosting company denies the existence of any throttling.
In the case in question download speeds are not the issue, but is it possible that any difficulties might be a function of
upload speeds not being all that fast and / or that interruptions are occurring resulting in error messages appearing.
I'm not trying to argue that there isn't a "file type" restriction, merely wondering if something else entirely might be responsible.
