People who don't bother to read group descriptions, welcome messages, and rules don't deserve much of any consideration, in my opinion.

There is no other way to communicate with potential members other than these, and when you take the time to have put it in writing, there's nothing else you should do.

It is the responsibility of any potential member of a cyber community to both read pre-subscription/posting information and to take the time to get the "lay of the land" in a given venue before diving in as though they own the place.? ?Any complaints that come because someone didn't read the welcome message, or similar, should be responded to with, "That information is contained in the welcome message, which you are expected to have read in its entirety before asking anything else."
