Is verifications.io connected to groups.io ...It is a common misconception that groups.io might be related to something else .io - but in fact that's akin to wondering if yahoogroups.com is related to any other .com company. The only connection is that they lease their domain name from the same Top Level Domain (TLD) registrar. In the case of .io that's a British company operating on behalf of the British Indian Ocean Territory - the io in .io stands for "Indian Ocean", though the similarity to the computer term I/O (Input/Output) is undoubtedly what inspires many of those who choose it.
