I think there are over 500,000 subscribers who depend upon groups.io to provide continuous and consistent service.
Allowing individual groups' owners to endanger the ability of groups.io to remain a non blacklisted email provider to those people is far more important that the minor effort required by owners to properly educate their subscribers about this issue.
It is simply a case where the good of all far outweighs individual desires.
