Footers have been a topic of much discussion (most recently ) and are a compromise between providing necessary links vs cluttering up every message. This is especially true of plain-text message delivery, in which each URL is a fairly long string of text that may or may not be "linkified" by the recipient's email client. See?/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Footers?for details on what links are present in footers for the various message types and how the group settings affect them. You also have the option to insert information of this nature in your group's custom footer (see Admin>Message Formatting>Message Footer).
