You will have to make them Moderators to achieve this objective.

Go to Admin>Settings>Features>Calendar. Options get more restrictive as you go down the list. If I understand you correctly,?you will want to?select "Subscribers cannot view, Moderators can edit." If you want subscribers to be able to see the calendar but not edit it, select the option immediately above.

All Moderators (and Owners) will have this privilege. There is no way to assign the calendar edit privilege to a subset of your Moderators.
