entire message that preceded it, which in turn... I'm sure you can get the picture. The result is more work for moderators, who have to try to trim messages down so that only meaningful quotes are included. Watch this forum for a bit and you will see messages appended
with Excess quote trimmed by moderator, which is a likely indication that something like the above has happened.
I don't think it is reasonable to expect groups.io to find a technological solution to what is a shortcoming of some users, specifically (in this case) the unwillingness to take the time and trouble to assemble a message so that the point it is trying to make follows logically from something has gone before; that does not include regurgitating the same messages time after time; just a key phrase or sentence is usually enough.
