I can answer a couple?of your questions.
First, I am extremely happy with Groups IO!!
The customer service and support in groups IO is wonderful.......
Very hands on and approachable and quick.
?
I think Yahoo put a snag in the migration process so moving to groups IO would either need to be done right now by invitation to your members or through sending them a link to join. Automatic transfer I believe?has been temporarily suspended.
?
I am?very happy with the group manager experience. I have 6 groups on groups IO
?
If I had to do it all over again, I would leave Y Groups in a heartbeat all over again!
?
Groups IO is the best!

A group I'm in (the Bread Baker's Guild of America) wants to migrate away from Yahoo Groups.? I'd bet money a number of you have made that journey and I'm hoping you'll be willing to share your experiences.

Some of the people in our group are more cautious than others, so we're looking at a number of options.

If you could answer some questions, it would help us make the decision -
  • How was the migration from Yahoo Groups?
    • Does the migration still work - I've seen conflicting reports
  • How is the user experience?? Are your users happy?
  • How is the group manager experience?? Are you happy?
  • How is support?? Are your issues addressed in a timely fashion?
  • Is there an export option?? So, if we're not happy we can take our data and go home.
  • If you had it to do all over again, what would you do this time?
Many thanks,
Mike
