I've encountered anomalies like this in the Sent Invitations summary, too.

I believe it?will only show Accepted if the subscriber actually clicked on the link in the invitation email. If he got into the group in some other fashion (e.g. Moderator accepted a join request, or the subscriber was Direct Added) the invitation just remains in limbo. The best way to check on things like this may be the activity log.
