I got a note from a member of one of my lists today. She says she was trying to unsubscribe, but that the unsubscribe website makes it impossible because it demands agreement to the cookies before pushing the unsubscribe "leave group" option. I'm not quite sure what this means.
It's an all too common (and false) conception that cookies are akin to viruses. They can think that if they want to, and you get to decide whether you're going to let them make extra work for you as a result. ;-)
