How to finger this passage?

Hi! ? ? You will recognize the attached as a few bars from Danse Macabre.???? How would you finger this, specifically the F#'s???? Would you pick one fingering and practice that, or would you use different fingerings within the passage?

And which F# fingering(s) would you use?

Dear Connie,
Frankly, I don't think any alternate fingerings are going to make this any easier or sound better.? It's simply a matter of practicing slowly at first, and gradually bringing it up to tempo.? Starting slow will help get the pattern engrained in your brain.? You'll find it started to feel easier after some careful repetitions.
But regular fingering is fine for this.? And it's always a good idea to spend some time on practicing scales, and other basics!

Hey everyone. Amanda here. Still playing flute, and doing quite well. Construction on the house is complete, the living room is back together, and we have our Christmas things out finally. Unfortunately, this will be the last year for our small table tree. We have to get a new tree next year. Don't know if it'll be one we can put together, but I don't know. Anyway, a friend of mine and I are playing together on New Year's Eve. She plays the violin, and the flute and the violin sound great together.?

??? It’s good to hear that you’re all settled for Christmas.? We finished the 5th and last of our Christmas gigs last Sunday, and although all were enjoyable you can have too much of a good thing.? It’s summer here, and we’ve had some beautiful weather, so I’m planning to spend a lot of time in the garden.? Enjoy your New Year’s duets.? Should be fun!

When I have passages that cause me to think too much about my fingers, I remember that my hand is part of the whole arm structure (which starts at the sternum). ?

Hi everyone. There's a piece of music that I'm playing on solo flute for New Year's Eve. It's an ancient Native American hymn. Was in the moon of winter time. I'll see if I can post the YouTube video of it. It's not going to be very long, but at least it's you can hear it. By the way, I have a problem with my skin. I get these sores on my legs, and so they're trying to figure out what it is. They say it might be a skin condition called PERIGO, nodularis, or a bacterial infection. They also think it might be an allergic reaction to some sort of something that I use daily. They don't know. They had me switch my laundry detergent to see if that helps.

Good luck with finding out what’s causing the skin problem.? There are so many possibilities and your doctor may have to guide you through a process of elimination. ?I’m allergic to a certain weed that’s common – African Panic Grass.? Whenever I remove any, within an hour I’m in the shower scrubbing, and of course I always wear long sleeves and gloves…? We’ve had a couple of very busy days, so no flute for two days.? Ouch.

Man. I sure hope they can find out what's wrong with my skin. I have a sore throat, but I have to work this weekend. If I have a sore throat though, I'm not going into work. I've got to go to breakfast with a friend on Friday, and I'm not going to little little sore throat like that stop me.

Connie, I haven't played that piece, but looking at the score you posted I can definitely relate! Those passages are some sort of love-hate. And also - in my head it should not be diffucult, therefore it is even more frustrating. I, of course, am not by any means a skilled flute player but what I try to do is except from play slowly and progress, different accents, binding two-two, two-three etc is to try to take that mind block away. Sort of suddenly it works, and then you play the next (easy?) part wrong just out of surprise ... But as I say, these are my tricks.
