Ok, I've been trying to figure this out for a little bit, but who(/what) is
WIBB? Also, what is a Lot--I've decided it must be some flute manufacturer,
but thats just a guess. Also, thanks for the info. on open holed piccs.
That's really cool, I want to try one.
Hello Jill (you are Jilly??) - First off there are no silly
questions. Some of us oldtimers get to going and forget others may not
have been around long enough to pick up on some things. WIBB is William
Bennett. It is what he prefers to be called, the name comes from his
initials. He is a wonderful player and teacher. He is my mentor and is
highly respected in the flute world. Wibb plays old French flutes, as do
several others of us. You are correct about Lot. He was one of the
leading makers of French flutes from the 1850s into the early 20th century.
They are no longer made. Other names of flute makers in France durning
this era you may see from time to time are: Bonneville, Lebret, Rive, and
Barbier.
Keep the questions coming!!! How are you going to know if you
don't ask.
Cheers!!
