Dear All, this article is a must read. I have used? Castor oil packs over the years and never realized that there are so many more reasons for it. Dana This is so interesting I always thought castor oil was for pain relief.? My husband's thigh has a slight swelling which i think is his lymph nodes not working correctly. Hi Alison and Kristen, I was really glad to be able to share this new discovery about the Castor Oil. I have been using it mainly as a detox and to stimulate the liver, every so often never knowing that it had so many other important properties. I am not an expert an have never used the heat. I am going to buy it this morning and start using it properly. Alison, I hope one of those seems right for you. I have always done it on double sheet of organic flannel. I put a folded tea towel on my table, cover it with the same size of a plastic then a lot of paper towel before I put the flannel so if any of it escapes it will be held there.? I wrap one of those long stretchy tapes that you would put on your wrist, around my body, a bit lower from my waist and then simply take my pack, put it over my stomach/liver area and lift the band over it. I then put another big towel to keep it warm and usually go on my bed. I do either Reiki or one of the Jin Shin Jyutsu therapy parts and always fall asleep. :) Alison, I would love to hear how you did it for your husband and if it will help him. I hope you will see a big change but if you don't, don't lose hope. I wish you both many happy and healthy years. Dana....I LOVE YOU? I have suffered. yes. suffered with Lymphoedema for 28 years following some tomfool inadequate care from those who call themselves"doctors' in New Zealand. It has become slowly worse over the years and accelerating following some more tom fool care in removing a lymph node without my knowledge or permission during surgery.in Ukraine. I do not know what rubbish that appeared to be from me but was not!? I found the link and am very interested in having a castor oil pack recipe asap for the lymphatic system to be able to pursue it until my lymphatic system has been restored after 28 years of medical mismanagement/disaster? first in New Zealand and then here Dana, a recipe and what I need to buy to carry it out for as long as it takes to clean up my lymphatic system. Dana you have such a generpus spirit thank you so much for all this. I am now feeling able to move forward with good knowledge thanks to you. The big hurdle is getting Jeff to actually want to do it - horse to water and all that. The hormone therapy is messing with his brain and he seems to have lost a bit of his mojo lets hope its back soon.

I would like to add a drop of pure lemon essential oil in water is great for the lymph system. Lemon juice by itself is very cleasing to the lymph system along with lemongrass also. There is a site called Hopewell Oils and they have a great Lymphatic cleanse where you add a drop of the essential oil blend to water and drink it and helps the lymph system. It has cyrpress, grapefruit and orange in it. They also have another blend for the lymph system designed by a Dr. Hull called Dr. Hull's Lymph Venous. People with swelling issues say it reduces the swelling when applied topically with a base oil. I had bought some and mixed up a bottle for a friend of a relative. The next day the swelling was reduced and my young son even commented on it but the person did not want to go to the effort to apply it to his feet who suffered from Edema. Also, would it be okay to add a small bit of fractionated coconut oil to the castor bean oil? This is what many people use with essential oils. Many months ago I was making an oil blend to use on my face with castor oil and noticed if I added a small bit of fractionated coconut oil it made the castor oil absorb much better into my skin. - Kathy |
