Re: I'm still hungry

W. Hansen

Hi Jim, have I your name right?

In the Budwig program carrot juice and/or other vegetable juices are consumed mid morning (about 10:00 am), not at breakfast.

As for breakfast, are you saying that 3 tblsp FO mixed with 6 tblsp CC and 4 tblsp ground flaxseeds and fruit and nuts still leave you hungry? That is a big breakfast. Many people find it too much to eat. If it is not enough for you, why don't you add proportionately more of all of the ingredients.

I'm tring to follow the budwig plan as closely as possible but I still
find myself hungry particularly during breakfast. The muelsi and
carrot juice is not doing it. Can you guys recommend anything else?

Posting a document to download?

neenah_payne

I joined the group recently. In my first post, I invited Renee to
email me privately for more information. However, I found that my
email response did not go through to her, for some reason. In addition,
other people contacted me for the additional information. So, now I
would like to post the information as a PDF document for interested
members of the group to download.

Does anyone know if there is any way to attach a file to a post or to
make a document available for download?

Thanks,

Neenah

Vanessa,

It is my understanding that people who are allergic to cow's milk can
often tolerate goat's milk. Have you ever tried goat's milk? You can
make your own cottage cheese with goat's milk.

Well, you could use organic plain yoghurt but as that has less protein than
CC you'd probably need to include more.

Re: cabbage juice---Cultured Vegetable Starter Instead!

breathedeepnow

Hi.

My wife has made cultured cabbage several times, and it is fine. Here
is a link where you can buy cultured vegetable starter:

If you do an internet search under "cultured vegetable starter" you
will find other places to buy the starter, as well. But we buy ours
from the link I gave above.

Doctor Budwig does say, I believe, that eating soured cabbage is
okay, too. Anna apparently says she drinks fresh cabbage juice, if I
am not mistaken, but I think it is important for the protocol to be
drinking soured cabbage juice or eating soured cabbage---to be
getting enzymes AND good bacteria.

I know the cultured cabbage is tolerable, and I am thinking if one
were to put the cabbage through a blender and add the cultured
vegetable starter to it that that would be palatable, too.

Nelson,

I have not made it as I have been drinking cabbage juice instead as
instructed by my naturopath. These have enzymes and other good things.

I did notice that you have to drink your 'cultured cabbage juice diluted'
is
that what you did?

Sounds like you are on the right track Donetta

You might consider using a true sea salt with 80+ minerals - each
natural mineral can assist or help create dozens enzymic reactions.
Also dead suppliments will not work by themselves without enzymes -
you also might consider Brazil Nuts for a selenium source - they are a
complete package of selenium, enzymes and EFAs.

Thanks for your reply. I do use Redmond RealSalt which contains 50+

I have used it for over a year now, but of course, when eating some
processed foods (not much) or eating out, know I get into regular
salt. My doctor has cut me down both last year and again this year on
the amount of Synthroid that I use because she said my numbers on the
test was too high and that I was getting too much medicine. Perhaps
the salt is making a difference.

I have also started using coconut oil for cooking because it is
supposed to stimulate the thyroid. Have also added selenium to my
daily vitamins.

I was just concerned about the statement about flaxseed oil and the
thyroid.

Eldi Oil

I got my supply of Eldi Oil from Germany today, yay! It took almost a month
to receive it. My question is, how do you store the oil? Do you refrigerate
it after opening it or at all?

I ordered a 3 month supply, so I got 6 containers, I put the unopened
containers away in a cool dark cupboard, is that sufficient? Or should it be
refrigerated?

As an aside, if you are planning on ordering from the Germany site, I would
fax or telephone with your credit card information. I don't know if this is
related, but the credit card I used has been breached by thieves who have been
attempting a spending spree with it.

I sent the information via 2 e-mails when I ordered. Anyway, just to be on
the safe side, I won't send credit card information via e-mail again. Lesson
learned.

You are making a BIG mistake taking flaxseed and flaxoil without a
sulfurated protein(cottage cheese). This combo helps break down the FO and
make it bio-available to the body. Even JB herself said taking FO alone can
do way more harm than good.

Thanks, Karine.

I haven't actually started the protocol yet. I use flax oil and flaxseeds
all
the time but have never eaten cottage cheese. I must admit to finding it
repellant. But I am psyching myself up for it.

I had chemo friday -[ Abraxane -[ and have my hands full just taking care
of
my son. . .

I am waiting for the Budwig books to come in teh mail, I actually got one,
it
is quite short and not very specific as to HOW to acheive the results.
But I
havne't given it a lot of attention. THe cookbook one seems like it will
be
more helpful on a practical level.

THanks for your kind thoughts. I think that xeno-[estrogens caused the
cancer
and the mammogram angered it and the biopsy spread it. Plus I was not
getting enough sleep.

sleep is a factor here.

Re: flaxseed oil and thyroid---try Armout Thyroid Medication

JCASTRON

Cannot answer that original question Donetta, however, I can suggest you speak with your doctor and request he/she prescribe Armour Thyroid Medicine which is a more natural, though Porcine, supplement.

Most likely you may get 'some' resistance, however just say, "humor me"..............or whatever it takes to simply get a shoulder shrug instead of a negative diatribe.

Perhaps someone will suggest an even better product that will do what Armour does.

Re: Flax Seed Allergy

I agree with Elliot that a skin test might help, but if you already have the rash then that might be a bit of a problem. The other thing one has to remember is that the healing crisis could often be responsible for especially skin rashes. I have seen this happen to many people after 2 or 3 weeks on the protocol. My own dad had a terrible rash that lasted about two weeks. After that, he was fine, and now, more than two years after starting the Budwig protocol and still using it, he is still rash-free.

Karl,

This has come up several times with regard to flax seed OIL, and my
personal suggestion with regard to testing for possible allergy has
been to place a dab of flax seed oil on the soft skin of the upper arm
over where the elbow is, covered with a band-aid, and to leave it on 24
hours. If any redness or itching occurs, one may assume there is an
allergy to the oil. With regard to ground flax seed allergy, I expect
there is someone in the world who is allergic to just about every food
there is, so it is certainly possible someone could be allergic to
ground flax seed. I suppose you might do the same kind of test on your
arm with ground flax seed, only make a paste with some water and put
that on your arm with a bandaid and leave on for 24 hours.

THanks, Harry. I took note of that when I first started reading here. sigh.
ntohging is as easy as it ought to be!
what other sulfurated proteins are there?

I have been eating this way all my life, and my son does too. . . not that
that is good, obviously, in my situation I am humbled on the subject of health.
I just hate to cut flax oil out of my son's diet adn he is allergic to dairy
as are my sister and mother. I get hives too with dairy, but nothing more major
than that. I oculd take a benadryl and do the cottage cheese thing, I guess,
I just feel like htere must be some other source of sulfurated protein.

thank you!!
