Can you enlighten me some more and perhaps tell me what to do about it? Any help or clue you can give me in this would be much appreciated. Wilhelm I do not want to sound like I am talking down or whatever but I am not sure what you know and what you are saying totally here so here goes an autoresponder is a piece of soft wear that sends out a pre determined message when it is contacted ........ in my Windows XP I can have it send out a message saying whatever .... like thanks for your message but I am out and will respond personally when I get back The reason I said not initially is that since I started getting this message from Discover card I just "assumed" one of the subscribers had went on vacation and left there auto responder on There are two quick things you can do 1) look at members list and see who, if anyone, has an address similar and put them to no mail and post them personally 2) Write support at the address and ask them to turn off the thing I own several lists on yahoo If I can help more please feel free to ask There are also a number of list owner lists where yahoos clitchs and list owner issues are discussed. reposting Nan's story is actually quite timely because Anna has been asking how long it takes for a lump to decrease in size and nobody answered her yet. She posted her story here on Oct.2, 2003 ( ) and it is in our files - in the Testimonials under Breast Cancer. Nan is not a member of this group anymore but she said she wants to come back soon. ...buttermilk will not give you good cheese - Thanks for your response. Actually, I already made recipe 1 from the Files section using organic cultured buttermilk I THINK I MADE QUARK. It turned out really well. I hope other batches turn out as well. It also tastes great, much better than the cottage cheese that I have been buying. But since it is so thick, I have been mixing it my left-over cottage cheese. Question: What do I do with the whey? Put it down the drain or use it? Thanks, Carolyn |

Carolyn,
I got the same thing. It isn't from Discover Card, it is from Discover'Y' Card...some kind of hoax. Don't you wonder why people waste their time doing this type of thing? Eventually it went away. . . conflicts of interest have become widespread throughout clinical research in medicine, says Abramson, who spent two years as a Robert Wood Johnson Fellow learning to analyze and criticize research articles. "Seventy percent of clinical research is now funded by drug companies," he says. "Most clinical research is fundamentally commercial activity-albeit cloaked in the guise of public service-designed to maximize corporate profits." Commercialization as well as omissions and obfuscations like the absolute/relative risk comparison have produced a world in which "Doctors have to base their clinical decisions on scientific evidence, but the fundamental nature of that scientific evidence has changed-it has become more like infomercials than objective science." --- from The Bolen Report

Re: whey
Wilhelm Hansen
Carolyn,
You can drink it, use it in recipes or thin your fo/cc with it. It is not a substitute for milk because most of the milk solids are removed from it. Most of the proteins are in the quark or CC and most of the minerals end up in the whey. Here are the nutrients in fluid acid whey from USDA data. (Acid whey means it is from cultured milk as opposed to sweet whey which is from milk that has been coagulated with rennet or some other non-cultured method). I hope the table comes out alright.
