breast cancer

radjfarkas

Hi all, its 10:50a.m here and I don't seem to have any luck in
getting someone on line when I post a message due to the time zone.
It's a real pity. Has anyone in the group with breast cancer tell me
of their experience as to how long it took before yoou noticed
changes in the lump. I have not done chemo.Anna

Re: Flavoring flaxseed oil and yogurt

Chris,

I use a half banana to sweeten just enough to eat. I do have stevia too, but very rarely.

You know you could use it with ginger or anything you like as in salsa or salad dressing or some spaghetti sauce, anything to make the taste bearable. There is many people that have different recipes for you to like it.

I am sure many will come up with their ideas.

Diane

Would Stevia or Cinnamon be okay?

Anyone have any ideas on flavoring flaxseed oil
and yogurt without going to 'sweet'?? I am using
yogurt because I have Candida also and need the
bacteria I think. I'm getting sick of the
flaxseed oil flavor unless I sweeten it with
something which is bad for my tendency toward
Candida. Anyone have any suggestions for
flavoring without sweets? I can tough it out but
I'm more likely to not miss a dose if the taste
is palatable.
I have bought some carob powder and like that
somewhat. It has a naturally light sweet taste
and similar to chocolate and blends easier than
cocoa powder but it is still sweet even though
not from sugar.

You don't have to give up sweet tastes.
I'm sure many will mention Stevia. I have used it for some years now..it is
a natural, harmless
sweetener, comes in liquid or powder form and can be used Anywhere that sugar
is used.
I buy mine, online, 4 bottles at a time (costs around $7 per bottle), from
Beyond a Century.

Re: skinning almonds

barb1283

Ulla, thanks for the tip. I like the idea of throwing them in
boiling water because too many raw nuts and seeds and I can get
diahrea. However, if you prepare almonds this way ahead of time, do
they get soggy on you???? I rinsed off some almonds, ate a few, left
the rest in a colandar and when I went to eat the rest later in the
day they were soggy. I didn't think an almond would absorb moisture
like that. I left them in a strainer type of bowl that had holes in
the bottom too. Do you eat them soggy like that???

A possibly more gentle (on the nutritious content) and just as

method is bringing water to the boil, throwing in the almonds for a
"moment" (I think 10 seconds will do), and then immediately running
them
under cold water and voil¨¤, they peel easily...
(just saw Chloie's previous similar recommendation and
am "enlarging" it
now by recommending the subsequent cold water treatment ... this is
how I
was taught to easily peel almonds...)

Re: Recipe for quark

Wilhelm Hansen

Hi Carolyn,
yes, making quark that way is very easy - and the taste is nice and mild. If you use 170? F you probably don't need to leave the buttermilk in the oven for 8 hours. Probably 5 or 6 hours is enough in that case. If you use a Pyrex pot you will see when the whey separates. It is best to stick to the lowest temperature that gives you good results. That happens to be about 150? F (65.5? C) for this method.

I had to find a point on the rotary dial below the lowest temperature shown that was about right. I used a food thermometer in the oven to find the right point and then I marked it. Don't forget that the oven temperature cycles maybe 15 or 20 degrees above and below that point, but it is the average that counts. The average will be reflected by the temperature of the buttermilk when you take a reading.

Cultured means that the milk has been fermented with live bacterial cultures.

Enjoy your quark.

Wilhelm

I made recipe 1 for quark from our (flaxseedoil2) 'files' section. It
was very easy to make!

The recipe calls for an oven temperature of 150. My oven only goes down
to 170. Does that make a difference?

I used the organic buttermilk. What does the word 'cultured' mean?

Carolyn,
Basically means a "culture" is used to activate, ferment in making
the buttermilk insted of churning the old fashion way. I cannot get
organic buttermilk so have to use a culture and organic milk to make
my quark.

Hi Flo,
it is nice to see you back.

Wilhelm

Hello group:
I just wanted to let you know that I am back. I recieved several e-
mails asking me to stay. Which I might add was very nice in deed.
Please know that the day I got so upset, I had some very bad news
about a family member. I do believe that I over reacted and I went
to bed crying. Ater a nights sleep I realized that I was just being
silly to let things upset me so much. I hope that I will be forgiven
for my bad judgement, in any post, where I caused others to be upset
too. I'm sure that all of you can relate to the times when we feel
we have reached the end of our rope. having cancer in the back your
mind all the time is not a good thing to have to deal with. It makes
it so much more difficult to handle other bad news, and stress, at
the same time. I will try to be more tolerant in the future. You are
a Great group and I'm grateful for all your help and support.
I hope you will accept my apologies.
Thank-you
Flo

Carolyn, I remember my MOM making cottage cheese when I
was a boy. Seems to me that she would stir some cottage
cheese starter into the milk, set it in a warm place coveered so
no bugs or fourlegged beasts could get in it. In the morning was
cottage cheese.
I will call my aunt who is 92 to ask her how she made cottage
cheese. She and my mom are the best cooks I know of and they
knew all kinds of secrets for cooking.

Wow, I just went to the Files section for our FlaxseedOil2 group to get
the recipe for quark. Wow! I am impressed with how organized the
information is.

It took me a while to figure out that I needed to click on "files" in
the left margin. Now I know! Thanks again for the great organization!

Charles,

I bet they used raw milk. Ask your aunt if they used milk right from the
cows.

Thanks!

Re: Tamoxifen

Wilhelm Hansen

Hi Anna,
what you say about Tamoxifen is my understanding too. In case you are referring to my recent post on Tamoxifen, I just answered the question, I did not suggest using it. I don't believe in that. Yes, ground flaxseeds are said to have a similar estrogen moderating effect. I am very interested in the research on ground flaxseed. Please email it to me. If it is not too long, you could post it for everyone to read.

I don't know how long it takes for a change in the lump. I would expect not more than a few weeks. Perhaps someone who has gone through it can answer that. I remember you were concerned about taking too much fo/cc because of your low body weight. Are you taking 4 tblsp FO or more? Are you using Eldi Oil? It is for external application. That should give an added push. You will find information on it in our files under "Budwig Protocol".

Regards,
Wilhelm

Wilhelm
it is my understanding that Tamoxifen is a drug that
women with hormone dependent cancers should avoid.
This drug is pushed by several pharmaceutical
companies that call it another name, as a prevention
for recurring b.c. Here in Australia when allopathic
practitioners give you a treatment for cancer i.e.
surgery radiationchemotherapy and finally tamoxifen,
we call it the Big Mac. I have an article in which it
states that nine paper were submitted at an annual
convention in Louisianna on Experimental Biology
regarding the therapeutic use of flaxseed, even to the
point of adding it to processed food, because the FDA
have recognised that the medical costs generally are
skyrocketing and are desperate to find a preventative
solution. Also a study showed that 10% level of flax
in a rats diet could mimic the results of tamoxifen,
without the SIDE EFFECTS. The researchers that
submitted thiss and other papers on flax were
FDA,Uni.of Toronto, KennethL.Jordan research group New
Jersey, Sth Dakota State Uni., Midwest Reaseach
INstitute Kansas City. If you want more details I can
email it and perhaps you could put it in your files
for everyone to read. BTW how long is it before you
can notice changes in alump. I understand it varies,
but there must be a minimum period so that you know if
you need to increase the quantity. Love Anna.

Keith The reason for the organic variety is that in
the States (I live in Australia) is that your
government has allowed the farmers to use rGH. An
artificial hormone injected into the cows to keep
their milk coming and I hasten to add the antibiotics
that these poor animals are subjected to. These filter
into the food that you eat and bioaccumulate,
especially if your body hasn't the capacity to
eliminate these excess toxins.Love Anna
