Re: New to the FO/CC

Wilhelm Hansen

Ed,

I assume if I make the FC/CC and eat it like many of you are as well as make various recipes as noted in these cook books...this is the over all plan?
The overall plan is broader than that. Please read "Budwig Diet" and "Budwig Protocol" in our files for more information on that.

I assume if you only used FO/CC straight it would be OK if you could handle the boredom of just that taste. Adding various fruits etc is for variety and does not change the health benefits of FO.
That would be too one-sided. Taking fo/cc straight would be fine if you eat fruit, berries, nuts and ground flaxseed with it (not mixed in) because you need these foods for the nutrients that they contain.

Also, I am not clear why there seems to be so much discussion about how one blends the FO.
Because some people don't appreciate the importance of mixing it properly - or even of mixing it at all.

If the point is to get the FO it into your body..I assume one could take it straight out of the bottle followed by spoon full of CC. (If you could do his an not gag.)
No.

In my case since I do not have cancer, isn't the point to get as much FO into my system as possible...
No! Not as much as possible. That would give the impression that you should drink it by the bottle.

...or is it necessary to blend it with CC, yogurt or quark?
Yes, mixing with CC or Quark that is. Quark can be made from buttermilk and also from yogurt and possibly from other fermented dairy products. Cheryl makes it from kefir, seemingly with good success. Using yogurt (and kefir?) unstrained (i.e. not made into quark) is questionable as it has a relatively low protein density and may therefore not facilitate full water solubility of FO. But that is what the subject of the discussion that you are not clear about. We have seen it reported that lack of proper mixing did not give the expected results and later, when the mixing was done properly the results improved. If you still have problems with this concept, just take the need for proper mixing at face value from Dr.Budwig.

Del,
Probably just water should do the trick for
experimental purposes. You are just trying to
see if the fish oil is dissolved. If it is
'water soluable', it should dissolve in *water.
I think Cheryl or whoever just did juice for the
taste.

Re: Beads in the mixture- Del

Cheryl du Toit

Hi Del,

I personally don't know kefiili and therefore would not know the difference
between kefir and kefiili. My personal observation is that people who are
lactose intolerant have less of a problem digesting kefir cottage cheese
than ordinary store bought cottage cheese. I don't use digestive enzymes
but I understand that digestive enzymes is excellent at alleviating
indigestion and food intolerances, while improving nutrient absorption and
ellimination of waste.

Del I buy my fruits at our local green grocer. What do you pay for a
pineapple and a papaya where you live? Where do you live?

As for veggie smoothies - I love to use carrot juice as my basis for my
smoothies and the best blend as far as I am concerned is carrot and beetroot
I do not use totally raw beets. I remove the beet root leaves and stalks
and rinse thoroughly - I rinse the beets and then put them in the steamer
for +/- 10 minutes. Just enough to remove the skin easily. (I also steam my
beets because I do not like the earthy taste of totally raw beets). Let it
cool and then put them through the juicer - adding the leaves and stalks
as well. Blend with your juiced carrots and fo/cc mixture. Delicious!

Then, a personal other favorite - potato salad. Steam potatoes, do not
remove skins and chop into cubes - add ground unrefined sea salt and ground
black pepper to taste. Juice lightly steamed beets (not the leaves) and mix
with the fo/cc mixture - should have the consistancy of a salad dressing.
Pour fo/beet mixture over chopped potatoes and toss. Garnish with chopped
walnuts and some chopped celery. - This Sunday I had guests for dinner and
served this salad with grilled salmon on finely chopped lettuce leaves.
While we were having dinner, one of the men said that if you really want him
to vomit, you must feed him fo/cc.............I nearly fainted with laughter
Just goes to show :-)))

Cheryl

Thank You Cheryl, I feel like my mix has been water soluable all along
with my kefir (acturally "kefiili" which is a lot like kefir only
thicker and milder)! I want to make the CC with my kefiili but I don't
think I can because it is so thick! Kefir yes but no with kefiili. I
am having a hard time with letting my beloved kefiili go and starting
over my making something else. I would make yoghurt before I would
make kefir. I like my homemade yoghurt but I don't think I like kefir
as it is sour and thin. I picked between yoghurt and kefiili about 2
years ago as I didn't want to make both and didn't think I needed to.

I believe some people gag because my dh does! It is hard to believe,
it is soooo good.

Cheryl, where do you buy your fruit to juice? You are talking about
some very expensive fruits...papaya & pineapple. I don't get to buy
those too often and when I do they are almost always not ripe are over
ripe. Dr. Budwig suggests papaya on a regular basis for the enzymes.
Papaya is not always pleniful. Do you take enzymes? Which ones? I
mostly stick with berries, apples, dried fruit, nuts and/or banana.
Not all that in the same mix, but mixed and matched. I don't really
like OJ by itself either in the mix. This morning I had OJ, banana and
almonds and it didn't sit right on my tummy. I think it was the OJ.

Your all time fav of papaya, pineapple and banana sounds great to me!

I have not made a veggie smoothie with the FO/CC mixture as yet. Can
you recommend one to start with that you like? I make the mayo and use
it on raw salads every day.

Thanks Cheryl for your help,
Del

ACV vs PDG

Hi All,
I've 500 posts to make up.

Thought I pass on what may be a hidden discovery.
PICO DE GALLO
This is a Mexican side dish (salsa if you will) prepared with:
Water, diced tomatoes, garlic, onion, cilantro & salt.
Since Apple Cider Vinegar provides healing properties, then shouldn't PDG do
same if not with superior benefits?
There's one restaurant chain through the US (there may be others I'm not
aware of) that prepares PDG from scratch daily @ their restaurants.
Seems to me that the ingredients in PDG should provide protection against
many illnesses including cancer.

PDG juice
I feed it to our 10 yr young Lab-Chow mixed with dry food, as well as
drinking it myself (as I would with ACV)

Do we have something worthwhile here or am I shooting blanks?
Thanks

my diet, juiced and used meditation. But its back. Now
my naturopath did not give me details of Budwigs diet,

am currently waiting on results of ct scans and a bone

have you not done the Budwig protocol at all prior to your post on the

Cheryl, thanks for your response. Ihave been using DIM
for the last 11 months with positive results in that
it reduced the excess estrogen, but it is still on the
high end of the scale. I have ordered organic CC to
use with the oil. But right now I am consuming 6 tbsp.
of flaxseed meal (FM) and 3 to 4 tbsp. of FO in
beetroot juice or grape juice. I'm not sure how much
of this is getting into the cells as it obviously
doesn't seem to dissolve in these juices. Anna

Re: Lignans or not??

Joseph

I'm not sure but I think high lignan is best. Many people add fresh
ground FS to their FO/CC mixture so maybe it doesn't matter that much.

Hi,

Is this a good product? I see that it's only $7 a pint at
vitacost.com. The high lignan type is $7.25 a pint.

Thank you.

From: "Carolyn J. Kreibich" <kreibich@...>
My oncologist told me to stay away from soy. He even said to check
my
vitamins to make sure they did not have any soy in them.
I personally think that's going overboard. If the concern is the fact
that soy's a phytoestrogen, my understanding is that it actually
blocks the estrogen receptor sites, inhibiting estrogen's
growth-promoting functions. For reasons unrelated to estrogen, I think
it's best to avoid nonfermented soy (e.g., soy milk).

I would say you didn't add any milk as a thinner. You need to thin the mixture so that it mixes properly. Using an electric mixer works best.

Here is what it says in our files under "Foods":

Linomel Muesli -

3 tblsp flaxseed oil (FO)
100 g (6 tblsp) Quark or cottage cheese (CC)
1 teaspoon honey
2 tblsp mik
2 tblsp Linomel or ground flaxseeds
Fruit, juice, nuts (no peanuts), flavoring

Mix FO, CC, milk and honey until it is smooth and no oil is visible anymore.
Then flavor by adding your choice of vanilla, cinnamon, juice, fruit, berries, etc.

Put Linomel in a bowl, cover with fruit and nuts, put fo/cc mixture on top.
Vary every day - experiment

We have

cc and kefir and I agree with you - there is no difference between
cc and
kefir as far as water solubility is concerned. I find that kefir
cottage

While I was typing your reply your orange juice question came

my personal absolute favorite fruit shake is a blend of juiced tropical
fruits such as papaya, pineapple, banana mixed with orange juice,
diluted

best, as long as there is no oil floating on the surface!!

Thanks Cheryl, I don't mean to run this subject into the ground as I
do think it is of utmost importance. When I mix the oil with my kefir
there is no more residue of oil than if I mix it with CC. This residue
can only be seen with a magnifing glass. With the magnifing glass
there are no yellow beads, it is a cream colored glistening. Possiblly
smaller that the head of a needle. With the naked eye it totally looks
like cream and will stay looking that way, even if I put it into the
fridge for a few hours. Everybody seems to have missed my post, I
think, a few days ago, when I used Nancy's low fat CC. I saw the same
residue, then, as I see when mixing using kefir!

If it were not water soluable then it would separate after it sits and
I would be able to see real oil instead of only glistening, I think.

After my experiment, (mixing with a hand-mixer and using CC and seeing
the same glistening as I see with my kefir) I am inclined to believe
that my kefir mix is indeed water-soluable! I guess the discussion
goes back to just how you mix and how long...whisk, elec hand mixer or
blender. Then ask yourself this question: "does it separate after
sitting and do I see the yellow oil".

Del

like a
fruit/veg shake. And yes, you are 100% right, the no. 1 appliance
is of
course your juicer. Dr Budwig states that ALL food should be freshly

pasturized it is obviously not fresh and I would not use that.

I don't understand. Is it the color that the grape juice provides that
helps you to see the oil better? My mix also has no beads after I have
added fruit, F seeds etc and will stay that way in the fridge for as
much as a few hours (that is all the longer I have let it sit). I
