I did not tell a lot of people that I was diagnosed with cancer. I
told my family and a few close friends. Others found out through the
grapevine. Living in a small community, everyone knows everyone's
business. I have an older friend who always thinks of me being "sick".
She's always saying to my kids, your mother is unwell so why do you
add stress to her life" ? No matter how many times I say to her that I
am not sick or unwell, it doesn't seem to sink in. Like others have
said, I'm sure she thinks I was handed a death sentence.
