Re: qyackwatch quacks like a duck
Patricia A. Bafford
The cases like this are too numerous to mention. My boss's wife was diagnosed with brain cancer (glioblastoma) in January 2003 and given very little hope. I hooked her up with Kelly whose husband Tom was diagnosed with the same type of cancer and is alive and well today using FO/CC and other alternative methods ( www.flaxoflife.com). She wasn't convinced and went the conventional route, even though they gave her no hope. She did, however, want to add the FO/CC to her diet. Unbelievably, the doctors at Johns Hopkins cancer center told her NOT to change her diet in any way and NOT to take the FO/CC. Why would they say that? Surely, they know that it will not hurt her, so why not let her do it? I don't understand this line of thinking--it is totally illogical to me. Needless to say, after chemo, radiation, and 2 "experimental" treatments, she's very close to death.

Subject: Re: [FlaxSeedOil2] qyackwatch quacks like a duck "Nothing you eat will have any effect on your cancer--period." -- Dr. Quackwatch This is absurd on its face. And putting water in your car's tank will allow you to drive it just as well, too. Yet this is how the entire conventional medical world thinks. When my friend was diagnosed with Stage 1 melanoma, his doctor said not one word about nutrition, yet when I promoted dense nutrition as a way to beat back cancer, I was/am treated like a nutcase. How in the world does the conventional world get away with such irresponsible behavior as to not advise the patient that an immediate change in dietary habits not only could be but WILL be helpful? ----- Original Message ----- From: Patricia A. Sent: Wednesday, August 11, 2004 8:57 AM Subject: RE: [FlaxSeedOil2] qyackwatch quacks like a duck My two cents worth on Quackwatch: when I was diagnosed with breast cancer in September of 2002, I did tons of research, including reading articles on Quackwatch to get both sides and make my decisions. I never will forget one article by Stephen Barrett, M.D., the guy who runs Quackwatch, in which he stated that (paraphrasing) "nothing you eat will have any affect on your cancer--period." Well, that was enough for me to form my opinion of Quackwatch as being the real Quack. Any one who can make a blanket statement like that, as if it was fact, despite tons of evidence to the contrary, qualifies as a Quack in my book. Pat Bafford First Financial Resources 2360 W. Subject: [FlaxSeedOil2] qyackwatch quacks like a duck Quackwatch's purpose is to promote burning, cutting, and Big Pharma. Its aim is to keep your attention away from the real quacks. As for the "pro-alternative camp" being just as biased the other way, you only need to read any alternative group to find opinions all over the spectrum. Quackwatch hammers its one point, over and over, till not even an Excedrin'll help you. Quackwatch doesn't do it for free -- or because it cares about your health. Pro-alternatives are almost universally concerned only about your getting well, whatever form that takes.
