To Charles from Ksenija re: request for testimony

Thanks for your quick response.

I have read Roger Mason's book, "Natural Prostate Cure" (very good) but have not read "No More Horse Estrogen.". I have also read the work of Dr. John Lee and have researched high dose Testosterone Replacement Therapy.

From what you have written, I presume you are on natural Testosterone therpay and not on the mainline hormone blockage. Good for you!

When my husband was first diagnosed, I did not know about T therapy then or of a decotor who would prescribe it. We reluctantly agreed to go along with the traditional hormone blockage, first Casodex and then Lupron . This seemed to work for a while and my husband's PSA plummeted. He did not tolerate Casodex. It was affecting his liver and had to be discontinued. Lupron alone could not keep the PSA down. He was becoming refractory.

Through a cancer support group, we heard of a female oncologist who was open to alterntive treatments. We managed to get a consultation with her and she accepted my husband as her patient.. Her thinking was very much in line with the research I had been doing. We discussed T replacement and she was open to having my husband try it. He started transdermal T replacement last week. Hope this will work.

The oncologist warned us that there side effects. One of them is the initial rapid rising of the PSA. We just got the last PSA test result today. It has risen from 7.55 to 15.5 in one month! I don't think this is due to T therapy yet as it is too soon for the T to have kicked in. This is scary. We have been conditioned to believe that PSA test is the gold standard markers and reflects how one is doing. It does not seem to take into account how one is feeling.

At present, my husband has no physical symptoms. His energy is good. It is much better than mine. (I loose it through continuos worrying). He has been taking fo/cc for 9 months, eats a reasonable diet and takes many supplemenats. So something is still working.

Ksenija,
Before taking any kind of hormone therapy/blockage it would be wise
to test your husband's hormone levels. I would like to recommend 2
inexpensive books by Roger Mason called "The Natural Cure For
Prostate Diseases" and "No More Horse Estrogen" availble new and
used from Amazon.com, 6.95 and 7.95 new. Both are excellent primers
for very basic understanding of hormones and the role they play in
good health. The chapters alone on hormones are worth the prices of
the books. The medical approach is to condemn testosterone at any
level for instance in prostate cancer. So their approach is
to "chemically" castrate a man. The truth is a man needs it for
proper health and most men with prostate disease has a low amount of
T contributing to the problem. It is other hormones that may be
causing the problem usually due to years of bad diet.

If you cannot obtain them write to me directly.

So happy to hear of your success with the Budwig fo/cc diet.

A year ago my husband was also diagnosed with PCa with mets to the
bones. Would you mind sharing on what kind of hromone blockage
therapy you are on (Casodex/ Lupron?).

Are you taking any additional supplements or just strictly
following the Budwig regime?

Thanks

Ksenija

You mention hormone blockage. Is it Casodex and Lupron combnation.

---In answer to your question in my case Yes! I have advanced
prostate
cancer diagnosed as the most agressive kind which has spread beyond
the prostate. 12 biosy needles with 12 positives. I changed diet
and
went on focc soon after learning what I had. I understand medicare
will only pay for one cat scan a year so I have no way of knowing
what
is going on except my well being has drastically improved in many
ways. My prostate has shrunk to near normal. Whether or not this is
from the hormone treatments or focc or a combination of both I do
not
know. My health continues to improve. I have been using focc since
october 2003.

I have enjoyed everyone's feedback for a few weeks now. Without
going into the archives to attempt to determine the answer
myself, I
would like to ask the group if the majority of you are, in fact,
battling a disease or do you take flaxseed oil as a preventive
measure? Personally, I'm convinced of the efficacy of Essential
Fatty Acids to protect us from a variety of ailments and I use it
for
that purpose (in my case, mild arthritis).

The reason I ask is this: I participate on a discussion board
where
melanoma patients of every "stage" post their treatments--the
vast
majority of which involve conventional medicine (radiation, drugs
and
surgery). I mentioned that I had read quite a bit about Johanna
Budwig's alleged cure for a variety of ailments, including
cancer.
Since the "treatment" is innocuous and involves a nutrient (EFA)
we
need anyway, why not incorporate the Budwig Diet with the view
that "it can't hurt and might help, so why not?"

Well, you'd have thought I asked them to dance naked in Times
Square
as part of their treatment. On a conventional discussion board,
you're practically drawn and quartered for endorsing (or even
suggesting) anything other than pharmaceuticals, surgery or
radiation, it appears, but that particular board is dedicated to
melanoma (my particular focus), so I continue to visit and post.
Now
I'm wondering, however, how many Budwig success stories of cures
for
actual diseases do we have among the 600+ members of this board?

Any feedback? Thanks.
