Wilhelm is correct about Tamoxifen. It is a drug that keeps the estrogen levels low and is used in women who have estrogen positive breast cancer. It is not a chemotherapy drug.

Since my own breast cancer was estrogen receptor positive, I did a bunch of research and found that the majority of breast cancers are caused by estrogen dominance--an overabundance of the bad estrogen (estrogen is actually 3 metabolites). There are many natural ways to lower your bad estrogen--diet, potassium iodide, DIM, I3C, exercise, natural progesterone cream, etc.--many of which I am implementing. You do not need to resort to a prescription drug to do something that you can accomplish naturally. The main reason I decided not to take Tamoxifen was because studies have shown that while it lowers the risk of breast cancer, it increases the risk of cervical cancer (by about 20%, I believe). My oncologist told me that this was an "acceptable" risk. I disagreed. Intuitively, you have to know that anything that can increase your risk of any type of cancer can not be in any way good for you. Pat Bafford First Financial Resources 2360 W. Subject: Re: [FlaxSeedOil2] male breast cancer Dorothy, my understanding of pharmaceutical drugs is quite limited since I don't concentrate on them. I understand that Tamoxifen is an estrogen receptor modulator, not a chemo drug. Wilhelm This may sound like a stupid question, but is Tamoxifen the same thing as chemotherapy? or is it entirely different? dorothy Note: The contents of the posts on FlaxSeedOil2 are purely educational and are not intended to diagnose or treat any illness.
