Re: only 9 months old

thanks, Julie,
I admit that the recipe for the?gruel confuses me, but will trust that it is right.

Is the fresh juice added to the hot gruel?? Or does one wait until the gruel has cooled?

On page 167 of Dr Budwig¡¯s Oil Protein Diet book she begins a small section specifically for infants with the following recipe;
3 tablespoons of Linomel (flaxseeds)
3 tablespoons of oat flakes
250 cc of water.

Preparation: put oat flakes ?into cold water and bring to a boil. Add flaxseeds to the boiling gruel; bring to a quick boil, then let stand for 10 minutes to let it swell. Pass the whole mass through a very fine sieve. This gruel is very healthy for the infant and can be combined with a little milk. It is also valuable for regulating digestion.

She then adds four more variants of this recipe. The first, adding 50 cc of freshly prepared carrot juice after the gruel is made.
The second adding 50 cc of freshly squeezed orange juice. The third adding 50 cc of white or red grape juice and the fourth adding 2 tablespoons of very finely grated apple.

She states ¡°give to the infant to drink right away. The freshly prepared juice must not be left to stand a long time before it is used.¡±

Best wishes
