[Kefir_making] Johanna Budwig/Flax Seed Oil/Seed Cure

ABOUT a year and a half ago, a few friends and myself found the
following information on Johanna Budwig. We felt she had been "way"
before her time, and we were thrilled with what we found out reading
her writings.? I was so thrilled about the results she had had in
treating degenerative disease, that I began doing the 'diet'.? The
flax seed oil and the freshly ground seed were definitely helpful,
and bowel transit time did increase... but I was not seeing
the 'response' that I wanted, and that I had heard about.? It was
some time later when I learned more about KEFIR that I realized
that "this was my missing link"!? As I dug further into Johanna
Budwig's writings and the therapies she used - she *always* used
properly cultured milks and buttermilks - she did not use what we
have on our store shelves today.? THIS finally explained to me why
she had had the amazing results she had.


So - now I've been re-doing my original Joanna Budwig diet - but with
the big difference of using fresh kefir (made with raw milk) rather
than store-bought cottage cheese. I use freshly ground flax seed and
oil. WOWWWWWW!!! What a difference.? I take them together in the a.m.
on an empty stomach - and it is mighty powerful for colon cleansing
AND liver cleansing.? I've compiled some information here for anyone
who is interested in reading more:


"The Budwig Diet


Germany's 90 year old Dr Joanna Budwig, nominated 6 times for the
Nobel Prize, has made the most remarkable discovery of them all!
After 30 years of research, she has found that 2 simple food items:
1. Flax Seed Oil (cold-pressed, unprocessed) and 2. Low Fat Cottage
Cheese will CURE or prevent many forms of cancers and a long list of
other degenerative disease including cardiovascular diseases and skin
diseases! Unprocessed flax seed oil provides 2 essential fatty acids
seriously deficient in the standard American diet: Linolenic and
Linoleic acids. These two unsaturated fatty acids have 3 high-energy
double bonds (pi-electrons) in their outer electron shells. These
fatty acids affect the membranes of animal cells and permit a
thousand-fold increase in oxygen transport and assimilation! By
substantially increasing the oxidation potential within the cell, Dr
Budwig proved what her German predecessor, Dr Otto Warburg, had
discovered 30 years earlier: cancer cells cannot survive in an oxygen-
rich environment. With sulfur-rich protein and calcium provided by
the cottage cheese, all the elements are in place for membrane repair
and increased energy transfer. A 2001 news item posted on the
Internet from Duke University caught my attention (and ire) claiming
to be hot on the trail of a 'new' discovery concerning the anticancer
benefits of flax seed oil. I contacted the editor and set him
straight on a few historical facts. To recover from cancer, the
Budwig Diet needs to be taken in conjunction with a strict, health-
promoting diet free of processed, devitalized foods..."

biochemist who is a leading European authority on fats and nutrition.
She has been nominated for the Nobel Prize seven times. She used her
methods to successfully heal terminal cancer patients, people with
heart diseases, arthritis and other ailments after they had been
given up as hopeless by the conventional medical practitioners. Her
methods were so simple that any housewife could use her techniques
with no special training and with good results. In fact, this is
exactly what happened in many cases, People with serious diseases
were curing themselves to the astonishment of the conventional
medical practitioners. However, in spite of the simplicity of Dr.
Budwig's discoveries, they also reveal a profound relationship to not

the work of later nutritionists who are following in her footsteps.
