At least they were slightly better when Peter Gabriel was lead singer which was the case when I saw them. He wore bat wings on his head for some reason.

The vocals are the clincher on this album. She's outstanding. An urgent but playful style without much yelling. The music reminds me a lot of some 90s indie rock, like the post-Slint, more gentle

Brilliant stuff! I love them. Sue Tompkins is one of the most original and idiosyncratic vocalists ever. Her spoken word stuff is really good too.
