Re: I can hardly believe I saw them AND I can hardly believe I didn't go and see them
Although I have got most of their albums and saw them countless times I still got the name wrong - what can it mean? Mind you I think The Amazing Alex Harvey Band is a pretty cool name...

Re: Fallesque
The vocals are the clincher on this album. She's outstanding. An urgent but playful style without much yelling. The music reminds me a lot of some 90s indie rock, like the post-Slint, more gentle

Brilliant stuff! I love them. Sue Tompkins is one of the most original and idiosyncratic vocalists ever. Her spoken word stuff is really good too.

Re: Fallesque
The Michael Kiwanuka album - Kiwanuka - is outstanding. One of my favorites of the last couple of years. About as far from The Fall as you can get, but magnificent. wrote:

MES Mural
Is anyone in the group familiar with this mural of MES by the artist Akse (photo byJeff Higgott)? I presume it is somewhere in the friendly confines of Prestwich... Wonderful and frightening, yes?

Yes, very good - totally new to me, as well. Got a "Theme from Joe 90" vibe right at the start. Probably just me.

Thank you for this! Great song and I've just bought the album. Shame they only were around for a single studio album, but sometimes that's for the best! wrote:
