Responding to Emailed QSLs

开云体育

This is good info Joe. ?Do you know?a way to set the bmp image?to a certain size and location on the QSL card? ?If I use this method to reply to e-mail QSL cards then more than likely I will only have one contact with them. ?This leaves a lot of white space on the card. ?I would like to put an image below the QSO information. ?Currently. the image fills the entire card which makes reading the card difficult.

Thanks,
Tom-KQ5S

Of course, *ALL OF THIS* is moot. ?DXKeeper already allows one to
create and respond to e-mailed QSLs.

All that one needs to do is design a QSL card in QSL Config -> Cards. Set the Printer to "Microsoft Print to PDF" and set the size to "North
America 4x6". ?Place the QSOs for which QSLs are to be sent in the
QSL Queue. ?The "cards" can be "printed" and saved individually and
the resulting (pdf) file(s) attached to the e-mail reply.

One can select QSOs for e-mail QSLing in mass by tagging each QSO
intended to electronic QSL by setting QSL Sent Via = E, then filtering
the log page display with QSL_Sent_Via = 'E' (and any other limit like
Station_Callsign = 'XX1ZZZ') before clicking "Add Needed" or "Add
Requested".

Card definition for use with "Microsoft Print to PDF":

Page Layout:
????1 card (right feed)
Card Dimensions:
????Width: ?6 ???Side borders 0.5
????Height: 4 ???Top border ??0.375

If the recipient wants to print a 3.5" x 5.5" hard copy instead of
a 4" x 6" "card" it is only necessary to scale the PDF to 85% when
printing.

Note: Using DXKeeper's *EXISTING* Print Card capability also allows
QSO Specific QSL Messages.

The only thing I know abut designing cards is contained in the
DXKeeper Help file and the DXLab WiKi - particularly:
<>

You could use Paint (or other image manipulation program) to overlay
a transparent white box in your background image where DXKeeper will
print the confirmation and QSO details. Similarly, careful choice
of type face, size, weight and color all contribute to legibility.

If you take out your email information in qrz.com it should be very likely that you will not receive any electronic qsl. This should work in addition to clicking on the unsubscribe links.
This is a VERY bad idea. Several times a year I use qrz.com to get email addresses to alert hams who are having some kind of on-the-air problem when on-the-air contact is not possible. It's one of things that hams have traditionally done for each other.

The only emailed QSLs I receive are from qslworld.com .
?
If I scroll to the bottom of an email message bearing one of these QSLs, the next-to-last line contains an "unsubscribe here" link.

Has anyone who has unsubscribed subsequently received another QSL from qslworld.com ?

I just discovered that today and did so.

In addition, my QRZ bio now says "Emailed pictures of QSL cards will not be acknowledged."

Maybe I'm getting crotchety...

There is an “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of the QSL World emails. Seems to work so far for QSLs I have received for 3 different callsigns I hold.

I get a lot? of those email QSLs. I don't respond but I actually enjoy looking at them - the non-default ones, at least.

One county hunter had a US map with his worked/needed counties highlighted. A61QQ's looked like an old Western Union telegram. A few other creative ones raise the signal to noise ration enough.

Kinda like if the buro sent one card at a time...

Easy enough to unsubscribe.

My QRZ page has my call sign @ arrl.net for my email address.? It does not seem to generate any unwanted spam emails as compared to my gmail.com? address. I've only received one email QSL card from QSL World and that was for a supposed contact with me? several years ago.? He was not in my log. I simply erased it.
