help with commander + WSJTX+JTALert for flex 8600

I followed diligently the DXL instructions for setting this up.
?
?
I am using two instances of WSJTX.
?
Modes and freq are tracking fine between two slices.? But when I go to TX from slice B in WSJTX it changes the TX over to Slice A and transmits.? Clicking a decoded call in Slice B transmits to slice A.
Any call I click in wsjtx does nothing with JTAlert or DXKeeper.

+ You might seek assistance from the JTAlert support group in

+ though Laure VK3AMA typically engages with JTAlert issues here.

I have commander, and wsjtx working with flex but changing freq on one wsjtx ends up changing both instances.? I unchecked SPLIT? before starting wsjtx but trying to change freq activates split in commander which is probably why both slices change to the same band.?

+ The "Installing and Configuring Additional WSJT-X Instances" section of

+ explains how to configure multiple instances of WJST-X when using the direct form of interoperation between DXLab and WSJT-X. I don't know how that's done with JTAlert, which is why I referred you to the JTAlert support group.

I'll worry about it alert later. For know I want the rest working correctly.

Thanks. I think I see what I need to do. Second wsjtx needs to be set to flex6xxx vice dxcommander.

+ If you're not using the direct interoperation between DXLab and WSJT-X to handle multiple instances of WSJT-X, then I can't help you.

I would love to but the link you sent said instance 1 should use dxcommander and no rig name extension .
Instance 2 should connect directly to the radio and use a rig name extension.?? Did I read it wrong? ?

+ Yes, that's what the first two steps say in

+ According to this article

you can specify a slice as the rig-name parameter.

+ You might ask Joe WQ6Q, as I believe he employs this technique.
