Re: Electronic QSL
Hi all,

Until recently, I was getting 5 or more electronic QSL's from numerous sources, until I took my email address out of QRZ and put it in my bio with an (at) instead of the @ sign. I did try unsubscribing from two sites, but that did not stop emailed QSL's from arriving here. I also noticed that all were already confirmed via LoTW, so I really did not see the point of this spam. If they were from folk that do not use LoTW, I would have responded (via email) to suggest that if they want a card, then use the bureau, as an electronic card is not valid for anything. From what I can see, these electronic cards are simply an ADIF dump to one of these services, and not personalised at all, which is pointless. I therefore totally agree with Joe on this. 73 de Phil GU0SUP -----Original Message-----

Re: Responding to Emailed QSLs
Of course, *ALL OF THIS* is moot. DXKeeper already allows one to
create and respond to e-mailed QSLs. All that one needs to do is design a QSL card in QSL Config -> Cards. Set the Printer to "Microsoft Print to PDF" and set the size to "North America 4x6". Place the QSOs for which QSLs are to be sent in the QSL Queue. The "cards" can be "printed" and saved individually and the resulting (pdf) file(s) attached to the e-mail reply. One can select QSOs for e-mail QSLing in mass by tagging each QSO intended to electronic QSL by setting QSL Sent Via = E, then filtering the log page display with QSL_Sent_Via = 'E' (and any other limit like Station_Callsign = 'XX1ZZZ') before clicking "Add Needed" or "Add Requested". Card definition for use with "Microsoft Print to PDF": Page Layout: 1 card (right feed) Card Dimensions: Width: 6 Side borders 0.5 Height: 4 Top border 0.375 If the recipient wants to print a 3.5" x 5.5" hard copy instead of a 4" x 6" "card" it is only necessary to scale the PDF to 85% when printing. Note: Using DXKeeper's *EXISTING* Print Card capability also allows QSO Specific QSL Messages. 73, ... Joe, W4TV |

Joe,? I think you have the best solution.? I have been printing the email "telegram" and then hitting delete.? Better not to respond in any way.? My QRZ page is clear about?what I will and won't accept for confirmation.? I won't remove my email address because it is legitimately useful for my purposes but to answer any of these emails is just inviting trouble.? I have not yet determined if any of these match actual QSOs so from now, I'm not going to bother printing them for future research.? I hope everyone will come to a solution to this issue.? I continue to use LOTW, Buro cards, and direct cards.? With cost of mailing going up even Buro and direct is getting too burdensome.? If ARRL would accept other sources as confirmation I'd consider them. 73, Guy K4CNF On Thu, May 1, 2025 at 3:59?PM Joe Subich, W4TV via <lists=[email protected]> wrote:

Looking for some help with a C# program in Visual Studio I am working on where I want to get the callsign from the SpotCollector for the spot that I have selected. The same concept that DXView gets the callsign to look up when a spot is selected. + When the user selects a Spot Database Entry, SpotCollector sends information from that Entry to DXKeeper, DXView, Pathfinder, and WinWarbler. This is not an extensible mechanism that can be used to send that information to other applications.

Re: Responding to Emailed QSLs
Majority of electronic qsl's I receive are not via QSL World (or using the N1ET tool) but from QSL Creator and those people which use the tool of PA4R. It looks as if they all use the email-information given in qrz.com (for sender and receiver of the card). ?
If eQSL would offer this service for a certain additional fee in addition to the existing eQSL service it should be possible to use those electronic qsl's also for the awards which accept eQSL (as the qso information is already available in eQSL, no need to present electronic qsl's). I don't download the images normally, only for some specific qso's confirmed via eQSL, therefore I am missing somehow the effort of the qsl designers, but that is the reality, at least for me. I am only using eQSL to be able to respond to SWLs which would need paper cards if eQSL would not exisit. The confirmation of other qso's is just a courtesy and easy to do via DXKeeper. This is very similar to the upload of qso's to qrz.com.
