Subject: Re: [dxlab] UN - Kazakhstan I have been so busy lately, Dave, and just haven't kept up with all the reflector postings.... this will probably not be the last self-inflicted problem I encounter. Thanks for your patience, which appears to be endless. PS... just nailed FT5GA on 20M SSB.... another all-time new one ... and a milestone #300... woo-hoo !! 73, Jerry K3BZ ----- Original Message ----- From: Dave AA6YQ To: dxlab@... Sent: Thursday, September 17, 2009 4:31 PM Subject: RE: [dxlab] UN - Kazakhstan I wanted to avoid deleting the QSO, but that was certainly one way out. Several DXCC database versions ago, we changed a number of DXCC entity prefixes in order to line up with those used by the ARRL. There was no requirement that we do this, as the only thing that matters is the DXCC entity codes, but many users found it confusing for DXLab applications to use entity prefixes different than those used by the ARRL DXCC desk. So we bit the bullet and made the changes. After updating to the updated DXCC database, the change in entity prefixes meant that users must perform a Recompute operation on their log file(s). Evidently, you hadn't done that, which was why DXKeeper flagged your UN QSO as invalid. Having DXKeeper determine that a new DXCC database has been installed and that the new version requires a Recompute operation so that the user can be informed is "on the list". 73, Dave, AA6YQ -----Original Message----- From: dxlab@... I was fiddling before seeing your answer below, and decided to try deleting the QSO from the log, then clearing the QUEUE, then re-entering the QSO. That worked. (I had previously tried changing the entity, the code, the prefix... and then changing it back. None of those allowed me to clear the QUE, and DXCC on the log QSO's tab just kept on blinking red. ) I did a Recompute and everything seems fine now... except for a gap in the Q# sequence.... no big deal as far as I can see. So now the problem seems solved for my log, but I can't say I learned why it happened. One other thing..... UN7QF was red in SC, but I had UN Verified on that band and mode. I got it into the Capture screen by clicking on the SC entry. 73, Jerry K3BZ ----- Original Message ----- From: Dave AA6YQ To: dxlab@... Sent: Thursday, September 17, 2009 1:09 PM Subject: RE: [dxlab] UN - Kazakhstan Having a QSL Queue entry for an invalid QSO is unexpected. Did you direct DXKeeper to put UN7QF in the QSL Queue? On the Main window's "Log QSOs" tab, please select your UN7QF QSO in the Log Page Display. In the QSL panel, set the entity selector to something other than Kazakhstan, and then set it back to Kazakhstan. Can you now save this QSO without an error being flagged? If so, then clear the QSL Queue and perform a Recompute. If no, then please place your log file in a zip archive, attach it to an email message, and send it to me at aa6yq@... so I can see what's going on. Thanks... 73, Dvae, AA6YQ -----Original Message----- From: dxlab@... [mailto:dxlab@...]On Behalf Of Jerry Keller Sent: Thursday, September 17, 2009 12:51 PM To: dxlab@... Cannot do Recompute because I cannot clear the QSL Que of its only content: UN7QF (in red). 73, Jerry K3BZ ----- Original Message ----- From: Dave AA6YQ To: dxlab@... I get a red flashing DXCC... although the entry is UN, the code is 130, and the entity is Kazakhstan.... same as appears in DXView and Spotcollector. The tooltip says I should make a correction to the prefix. Any ideas what I'm missing? 73, Jerry K3BZ ------------------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Links No virus found in this incoming message.
