BaoFeng T26 programming
I bought a pair of these simple FRS radios in part because their shape - easy to put in a pocket.? The description says they support CTCSS and VOX.? The manual describes CTCSS but says nothing about how to select which tone to use.? The manual mentions programming the VOX sensitivity but says nothing about how to do it.? Does anyone here know or wish to hazard a guess as to how to program these?
Also, any speculation or knowledge about why these have so few sellers and why they're not mentioned on the BaoFeng website?
Thanks!

Does anyone here know or wish to hazard a guess as to how to program these?Use CHIRP or RT Systems. I have the RT Software and it was easy to program. I didn't pay attention to the tones but programmed them for ham frequencies and FRS/GMRS. They're (the BF-888s I bought around 2016) illegal for the latter because they are not FCC type accepted, put out too much power, and probably for other reasons as well. They may even have scrambling as an option. For ham use, they'd be OK. Also, any speculation or knowledge about why these have so few sellers and why they're not mentioned on the BaoFeng website? The packaging on my BF-888s said they were license-free. They were definitely NOT license-free because they could be programmed on frequencies that were not FRS channels, and the output exceeded the maximum allowed, I believe, for FRS/GMRS. If you plan to use them for ham use, there shouldn't be a problem. This is just some food for thought. If they don't list the radio, they don't officially support it, but you can try
on their website for more information. They might also have an alpha or beta version you can try. We're just a peer to peer support group and don't have an official channel to CHIRP.
