Hello,
I am working on family of my paternal grandmother, Louise Emma Schmelzle b. 1883 in Waldulm, Germany under the County seat of Kappelrodeck.
I visited there this past summer and found many names of probable relation, but the lack of fluent German kept me at a disadvantage.
I was able to visit the churches and see the country side with many of the names back in my ancestry. ?Families bounce between Waldulm, Kappelrodeck, Am Bach, Muttert, etc.
Grandma's parents were William & Katharine Hodapp Schmelzle mar. Nov 1882 in Ringelbach. By 1889 they had both immigrated to the USA. ?Grandma was left in Waldulm with her grandparents, I assume, Joseph & Maria Anna Pfeiffer Hodapp mar. Sept 1848 in Waldulm at St. Albins.
From here I go back with the names of Fischer, Lamm, Steinruck, Spath, & Hirth
On the Schmelzle side I go back to Fischer, Oberle, Kocenninger, Bohnert, Huber, & Schnurr.
Several cross over names are on both sides....
Would love to hear from anyone who is working on any relationships within these lines.
