The total must be raised in order to save the unit before the January 22 deadline!!? The Boston & Maine Railroad Historical Society is cooperating with this project with the Danbury Railroad Museum to save the locomotive before it's too late.? The 1127 is not sick and dying, it is an operational unit in good condition but is slated to be scrapped by new owners R. J. Corman because it does not fit with their motive power future.
