In an article in Model Railroader, April 1973, famous New Haven RR modeler John Pryke shows how to make a New Haven RR 0-8-0. Detailed steps and the parts you need. He kept the AHM Drivers and motor.?
I planned to do the same project.? I had collected the needed cast brass and white metal parts, most came from Trackside Specialties, 1986 catalog enclosed. Other parts from US Hobbies, Kemtron, Laubaugh & Cal Scale. Plus a cast bronze boiler front and a plastic bell.? (14 parts) For those of you out there that have the AHM Kit just sitting there (not included), here are most of the detail parts you will need to make this NH Steamer. The issue of MR is included as well.? I have decided I will never do the project and got rid? of the kit years ago.
