Re: Short orchestral piece

Nicely done, certainly the best thing you've posted this time around. I reckon Juan's comments on RWP about the arrangement are spot on, so won't attempt to expound upon those, but there's something nerdier that might be worth considering. Have you experimented much with quantize yet? I should say going into this that I'm not one of these people who quantizes by default, and in many instances where I do use it, I'll either humanize to a small percentage afterward or manually reintroduce some imperfections, but I reckon most of these lines (particularly any instrument with harder attack) could benefit from a touch of tidying. You could perhaps try quanitizing then humanizing to something like 5% as a starting point to see if you prefer it. Both operations are undoable if it turns out I'm full of shit :) Keep it up man. Short orchestral piece
开云体育Hey all, sorry if you are getting this on the RWP list as well, I wanted to post to both places, hoping to get more folks to join us here so we can get more honest evaluation of our music. So after weeks of working with it in my off time, I finally felt I had enough experience with Reaper to try my hand at an actual project. I am going to be submitting this to the Audio Wizards competition in the next couple of days. I still need to tweak some timings, and I don’t know crap about how to properly mix and master, so I just have some minor panning and volume control going on for separation currently, but as far as the feel of the piece, it is basically finished. ? Here’s the link to the mp3. don’t let the opening flute throw you, it gets a bit more interesting soon. https://www.dropbox.com/s/2dixmle6rij2m9l/SwashBuckling11.mp3?dl=0 ? Thanks all for any feedback, positive, negative, or in between. Che

It’s only 45 seconds, check it out and let me know what ya think if the mood strikes you. 1 ? Thanks, Che ? |

Overwrought orchestral piece
开云体育Booga booga! Having recently purchased the UVI orchestra suite, I wanted to compose a short piece using it’s instruments. It is quite short, just a spin around the block really, and I haven’t done any separation or mixing yet. Any advice greatly appreciated, I have some thoughts myself on some things that need to be adjusted, but wanted to get some feedback from outside my own brain first. ? Let me know what ya think. Ex: PGCR radio and Vibes Fm radio drops have commercial release songs in them. I had nothing to do with those commercial song release production. 开云体育Check this one out, right now I’m using cellos for the bass line, but the feel is too somber, so I will try laying down a guitar track instead later on. The drums I laid down a piece at a time, and did some quantizing. I played the piano live with no quantizing, trying to not make it sound so robotic. ?If you heard the track I posted over on the RWP list, this one has been changed a good bit. https://www.dropbox.com/s/2gkpvcgyzkica02/BARadioBed1.5.mp3?dl=1 Let me know what ya think, and please post your own stuff here. I look forward to hearing it, Che ? |

join, and the very first member to post. I've been considering KK 12, I know it has a ton of instruments, but it ain't cheap. I got the Structure collection for $50, and it has a solid set to get me going thus far, but soon I'll be looking to expand my collection of instruments. Look forward to hearing what you've been working on. Take care, Che , -----Original Message-----
