That looks like a rather hefty stepper for your Z drive.

I thought I would add a few photos of my progress so far. Having broken my 3.2" screen, I have borrowed another and await my 3.5".....
By putting the encoder pulley on the tumbler gear setup, I can completely disengage the system. The gear train cover still closes. I have yet to consider whether it is worth making a cover for the stepper end.
The control box is still loose and can't be fitted until I have my NVR switch but once that is fitted, I can tidy up all the wiring.
The stepper end setup has an idler gear - this was to make it easy for me to adjust the belt tension rather than putting the stepper on a sliding bracket (I also had a spare idler!)
Once I have established how to create a video, I will upload something to show it all working.?
