Re: Group Huddle :> Pictures or not?

Sanjaya, You should be receiving all the emails on the email address you used to sign up.

I¡¯d be happy to participate in paying for the upgrade. ?This group being so important to our understanding of the mysteries of the universe we should have the best platform available. ?We can make the payment voluntary from the members.

Firstly, I¡¯ve always been set to individual email messages, not digests.
I believe digests can NOT (at least on Yahoo!) *receive* images.

I have been posting occasional images for years, as parts of problem solutions.
I know others have not been able to, but I just am typing along, break away to create the ¡°tutorial image¡±, come back to Mail, click on the paperclip icon at the top, and select the image:
<Screen Shot 2019-10-18 at 5.46.45 PM.jpg>
Done. Nothing ¡°special¡± on my end.

One day, I saw someone on one forum had a graphic image in their signature, so I decided to try it. I just edited my ¡°Standard¡± signature, adding this image, and now it appears as part of my signature on all the messages sent from my Mac. (I haven¡¯t done this on iPhone or iPad).

I'm mostly a lurker, contribute occasionally. But I get all the emails and read them and have found some answers to questions I've had without having to post the question. The 3G was my first iPhone so I've been around here for 10+ years even if my presence isn't seen often. Thanks for all the feedback I can learn from.

I also find that being able to visualize the person to whom I am replying is helpful to me ¨C through the use of a reduced-resolution, small-size image, like the one below.

FYI:
This image is only?97 ¡Á 128 pixels, and runs to?14.1 KB
If you try to enlarge it you will see it very quickly pixelates out, because it is a severe-compression JPEG.

Jim, I have no problem visualizing the person I am communicating with. Comparing to reality is the fun part.?

Let me say I have argued with you in the past, but enjoy many of your thoughts, so take the thoughts knowing they are a sign of respect. Your true image is not far from my guess, a grumpy, old Druid.

Re: IOS 13

Hard to tell if you don't tell us what iMac, MBP you have? But I doubt it if you are running 10.13.6.

I have an early 2008 MBP running 10.7.5, and can be updated to 10.11. I am having some difficulties because of the older OS and apps. They are few and far between, but increasing.

I think we will allow small photos, I just need to figure out how to get it working.

I can't get anything thru to the entire group for some reason. I tried to look at Jim's post
with his picture, but think I messed up.

Post your links here if you can.

FaceID on the new Pixel can be used with peoples eyes closed and Google says that is how it is supposed to work.? Mentions how the iPhone works.

Slow syncing

I tried sending this via email, but for some reason it didn't go through. ?I'm sending now directly from groups.io

Good morning all,

Since updating both my iMac (2013) to Catalina, and my iPhone 7+ to 13.1.3 my Notes are not syncing as they use to.

They still sync, but it¡¯s extremely slow, sometimes not happening until overnight while my phone is plugged in charging.

It doesn¡¯t matter if I add/change a note on my phone or Mac, either way it¡¯s extremely slow to sync.

I rely on my Notes for everything, and I do mean everything! ?

I have 171 notes.

I have turned off syncing on my phone (Settings/Apple ID/iCloud/Notes), and on my Mac, and shut down both. ?This removed all my Notes and it took nearly an hour for them to re-appear on both devices.. ?

Calendar has been having somewhat of the same issue with syncing, but not quite as bad.

Any suggestions to speed up syncing would be greatly appreciated.

Janet

VPN

Hello, has anyone any experience of using the VPN built into iOS?
I have enabled? it, but then found i could not log onto BBC Iplayer.

Barry Cant,?

Re: Group Huddle :> Pictures or not?

Although I didn¡¯t use that feature on the three Yahoo groups I was a member of, it seems like it would be useful at times.?

BTW thank you for proactively rescuing this Group from Yahoo. So far, Groups.io seems to be a ¡°nicer¡± platform.?
