Re: Welcome to the new home of the Yahoo iPhone Group.
Got it - makes sense. ?All my groups are moderated so I get it. ? Io has hashtags too which can be useful if you want to categorize posts ...?

Re: Welcome to the new home of the Yahoo iPhone Group.
Hashtags is a way to organize the group so that members can easily search #iphone11 and find all convo related to that model.... It can be applied to category you can think of ... The moderator/owner of this group can set up hashtags or let members use what they want -- which isn't conducive to keeping the list organized.?? Rachel

IOS 13
I’d wait —especially if you have an iPhone linked to a Watch AND use Reminders. Reminders between iPhone and iPad are now working ok. However, trying to set a Reminder using the Watch app just doesn’t work. I use an iPhone 7, iPad Pro and Watch 3. All have the latest updates.

Not to mention that Reminders in iOS 13 don’t connect with Reminders in MacOS 10.14 and earlier. That connection requires 10.15 Catalina.

Rant on. Apple is looking less and less solid in their software of late. The debacle with iOS 13 which has just been upgraded to 13.1.3! (three fixes to a new iOS in a couple weeks) should embarrass Tim Cook. Upgrading Reminders in iOS and breaking the connection with MacOS also not a great look. The replacement of iTunes with three apps is fine but breaking the previously supported .xml file which many developers counted on for a myriad of iTunes support products, also not good. Since I rely on a couple 32 bit apps, I’m unlikely to move to Catalina any time soon (and so my Reminders in iOS will no longer sink with my Macs). I understand change bringing enhancements and improvements is vital to continued growth AND there are better and worse ways to change. Rant off. Reminders work fine on my iPhone 11 Pro, 2 iPad Pros, Apple Watch 5 and HomePods. They do not work with my Mac running Mojave and I don’t want to install Catalina just yet.

Rich, I am not certain if William Lane is on this list, but he took over the list started by Janice Kempf. He switched the list's name to avoid confusion with the local MUG it was named after and moved it to groups.io after trying googlegroups for a bit.

The other group had almost 14,000 members and maybe 25 ever posted.? We are already at 100 members
and each one had to come and join themselves so while not a large number, if the 25 main people join, we will be back to normal with 100-200 or so real members. Rich |
Group Huddle :> Pictures or not?
I wanted everyone's input on if we should allow pictures in the emails or not?
I first wanted to allow everything here, then thought if we get bigger and many send pictures, people using cell phones or limited data plans might not want them. I can limit the size I think, but then that makes a problem sending them as I just tried a few times and mine were never sent. We can have a photos sections here on the site, but they have a limit on how much storage else you have to pay. So are photos important to you and how would you like the group to work? Rich |
