My hands cannot remain idle.? While waiting for my new 10W (its really 20W) amplifier prototype boards to arrive (Thursday I hear), I cooked up a new little board that plugs into the spot on the T41 where the audio chip is… you either put pins in where the TDA7266 chip is (and the speaker pins) or … if you have already built/ soldered the TDA7266 in… remove it and replace it with tall IDC sockets like what’s on the Teensy.? You then just build this thing and plug it into the board.? What it offers is good audio, but also the speaker output/leads not tied to B+ like the speaker leads are with the existing TDA7266!? That’s very problematic when you try to use some outboard gear with your radio… like FT8 modes where you need to plug the radio into the computer.? If you do that without using a transformer you will SHORT the 12V line to ground!

Anyhow… there is a little extra room on the board and I can add a headphones amp (with separate volume control) or treble/ bass control?? What do you think? Gimme some feedback and I’ll make and distribute a few of these boards to you builders for feedback.
