Re: My diamond cutting tool
I also increased the thickness of the tool holder component because I'm using 5/16" tool bits.? John's version was designed to accommodate 1/4" cutters, and I'd originally planned on placing the

Re: My diamond cutting tool
Thanks, Dick! FYI, you might have noticed a horizontal line drawn on the front of the tool holder.? That marks where the tip of the tool bit would be directly above the washer used to clamp the

Re: Tired of almost dropping your chuck when installing/removing.
No problem whatsoever. I have no horse in this race. Just suggesting there's a better way to deal with the "little bastard nuts" than needing to call them names, to where they need little attention

Re: Tired of almost dropping your chuck when installing/removing.
I use two 5" chucks, a 3-Jaw self-centering & a 4-Jaw Independent.? Changing them is very easy as the nuts of the adapter plate are out in the open and easy as one rotates the chuck to install them

Re: Tired of almost dropping your chuck when installing/removing.
Still got to hold the chuck in place... And the 5"/125mm is a bit heavy. I'd prefer to have a solid place to put the chuck regardless of what fastening mechanism it uses. I used boards for years. This

Re: Tired of almost dropping your chuck when installing/removing.
Amazing ! Great idea even though for now I rarely take my chuck off. And yes, mine has those small nuts that you have to finesse on. But that fix, that fix reminded me of something loooong ago. Either

Re: Tired of almost dropping your chuck when installing/removing.
It is always smart to put something on the ways to protect them when installing and removing chucks. Regardless of the technology that holds on the chuck (screwed on, camlock, goofy mini-lathe studs

Re: Tired of almost dropping your chuck when installing/removing.
We always just cut a wood block to cradle the chuck. But I guess if I had a 3D printer I'd be printing stuff like this as well. Michael - California, USA Micro-Mark MicroLux 7x16 LMS 3990 Hi-Torque

Re: Tired of almost dropping your chuck when installing/removing.
I have a little piece of aluminum wire (actually a chain link fence tie, because I needed a couple and Home Depot only had them in 50-packs, so I have a ton of them :-) with a little hook on one end

Re: Tired of almost dropping your chuck when installing/removing.
This is a good idea, A $2 plastic part saves some time. May I'd refine it so the stand could be part of a storage case.
