I think I'd plan on fixing a mini-lathe myself. A lot of the parts are similar in the different 7x lathes, so I think I could find parts pretty easily from LMS or MicroMark or on eBay or direct from China (AliExpress, Banggood)..
I don't think a warranty is worth much from most companies these days.
Perhaps LMS is the exception?
