I was trying to avoid having to save some for next year. Had an auto accident last week that reminded me that no matter how young or old you are, tomorrow is not guaranteed. Luckily, though my newish (April this year) car was totaled, neither my wife nor I were seriously injured. Bumps, bruises, and abrasions are all she got, and she was on the impact side, just in front of the damaged area. I've got a couple of bruises, and a sore neck and shoulder. I was driving, made a left turn with the light, which changed to yellow as I entered the intersection. Young guy who hit me was also driving a new car, and swore I ran the red light. Unfortunately for him, I had a dash cam that shows otherwise, though I couldn't show the video to the cop on the scene, so I got ticketed. Both insurance companies have gotten copies of the video, as has the cop. I'll be talking to the court after my insurance pays off, which should be sometime next week.

Now I have to figure a way to get something my wife can ride in. She has a very hard time getting in and out of my old Chevy truck. Better gas mileage would be nice, too. The truck gets 15mpg or so on? a good day. My poor little Accent was averaging 40mpg. And She has decided that she really wants the safety features of the newer cars. She is convince the side curtain and seat-side air bags kept her from getting hurt worse.?
