That's where 277V lighting comes from in commercial buildings, if
you ever wondered why a ballast often says it's good up to 277V.
If you are
on a ¡°hot leg delta¡± system, if you are connected to the Split
phase leg, it is the same as a residential split phase, if
however you are on either of the other two legs, then the
¡°common point¡± ?will be near ?120V from the neutral (at 60
degree phase shift from the closer hot pole).
