Great news on redistricting! ?It looks like we are going to keep all of our people, Elliot-Hine and Eastern!
I'm very proud of all of the effort people put in on behalf of our community and hope that we can translate this energy into continued economic, educational and civic progress and relationship building among our diverse population. ?Hopefully we'll also have some fun while doing it...
Best,
Brian
P.S. -- Special thanks to Commissioners Brian Flahaven, Francis Campbell and Jared Critchfield. ?They worked tirelessly to mobilize people. ?And to Christine ?Mullins, Hazel Kraeder and many others who gave their time and energy to critique various aspects of the original plan.

Attached is the ¡°new¡± map for Ward 6 ¨C see ¡°Plan 6 (2).pdf¡±. As you¡¯ll see, residents in Hill East, Rosedale and the Chimney will remain in Ward 6 (as opposed to the map that came out of the committee mark-up last week). From a procedural standpoint, this will be moved tomorrow as an ¡°amendment in the nature of a substitute¡± by Councilmembers Brown and Evans. The votes have been counted and we expect the measure to pass.
?
Thank you to all of the ANC Commissioners for your hard work with neighbors across the Ward. Between petitions, in-person visits, community meetings, rallies, emails and a few very long hearings at the Wilson Building, you and your neighbors spoke passionately and strongly about keeping Ward 6 together. Thank you all!
?
Tommy wants to make sure that we all give credit to the committee members for listening to the concerns of Ward 6 following the first version of their map, and taking so much feedback into consideration by re-drawing their recommendations.
?
Please let me know if you have any questions and feel free to share this information.
