Stagecoach Yorkshire 04/02

MAN/E300s 22628/30 (YN08 JHJ/JFK) have transferred?from Rawmarsh to Chesterfield, with 22629 (YN08 JFJ) to follow.

In return, Rawmarsh have gained E200s 36987/8 (SN63 YPK/L) from Chesterfield, with 36986 (SN63 YPJ).

Scania/Omnidekkas 15412 (YN54 VKB), latterly used at Chesterfield and 15413 (YN54 VKC), latterly used at Ecclesfield, have been sold to ConnexionsBuses (Harrogate Coach Travel) with 15414 (YN54 VKD) - which is still in use at Barnsley - to follow,? Connexions already have sister 15416 (YN54 VKF) which they acquired in October, and is now registered 5209 UA.

E200MMC 26026 (YX65 RBO) which was painted in to the 'ocean green' version of the new Stagecoach livery (the version for use on 'special services') for the launch last week is having the green bits painted over with the (new) standard colours.? Gather other members of the E200MMC fleet allocated to Rawmarsh are next in line to receive the new livery.

This was new to Goldline of Leytonstone but has been recently operated by Premier Travel of Birmingham.

I really can't explain just how underwhelmed I am.

So, lets take the Stagecoach Express servcies from Fife to Edinburgh.

They are supposed to be operated by coaches.

?

Regularly, you will see about 20% of the allocation being E200MMCs and E300s. Even those with Glenrothes-Kirkcaldy branding.

?

They also serve a massive P&R site at Ferrytoll.

?

So instead of having one livery there now could be two. Or three. I'm? not sure how that deals with people being confused about a brand.

?

The biggest thing Stagecoach need to sort out is their bloody dreadful website and range of tickets that, for example, treat Stagecooach services in Bedford operated by Stagecoach East and Stagecoach Midlands as if they were two entirely unrelated companies!

?

Oddly enough, the person behind this rebrand tried the same sort of thing at a different group and her ideas were rejected and off she wnet, but she's manage to pull off the same thing at Stagecoach!!!

if you look at the desktop version of that page, there are three vehicles shown - the coach in amber, the E400 MMC in the multi-coloured scheme, and then an E200 MMC in a white/turquoise scheme.

The E400 MMC (which is Stagecoach NE 11300) in the special, one-off "people" livery is another one altogether.

Volvo B7RLEs 66972-5 have moved from First Leicester to First West Yorkshire.

Along with 66967/8, also ex Leicester, currently in the operational fleet at York I gather these are for conversion to Driver Training Vehicles to replace the B10BLEs currently deployed on such work.

A bit of a long overdue (rather like the bus services...) update:

All the ex First Leeds B9TL/Wright Gemini IIs have now transferred from Hunslet Park to Olive Grove.

Moving from Olive Grove to Doncaster are older B9TL/Wrights 37103/5-9/12/14-6 so far, with the missing ones to move over shortly.

In the opposite direction have gone B7TL/Wrights 37031, 37151/3 and 37172/3, with 37152/5 due to move shortly.? Their stay at Olive Grove will only be shortlived as they are due to leave the fleet at the end of this month.

B7RLE 66963 (KX05 MHZ) has moved to Doncaster from First Leicester.? This is the last of the ex Leicester B7RLEs expected at Doncaster for now (66842/3/7 and 66962/3/4/6/9 are the 8 that have made the journey).

On loan from First Bristol for driver training/route learning purposes are B10BLEs? 66162 (S362 XCR) and 66174 (W374 EOW).

Gather both the previous Solos (FP51 AOH & YJ06 YRG) they purchased for this tendered route were withdrawn with major faults after only a brief spell of use each, lets see if 'HJK' fares better...

A post on Waterson's Coaches website states they have taken over operation of bus service 249 (Pontefract - Hemsworth - Upton) as of yesterday from BL Travel as the latter "went in to receivership".

They stopped running their other bus service - the 223 between Wakefield and South Elmsall - at short notice in November citing increased competition from Arriva.? Reports elsewhere suggest the Wakefield District AccessBus contract BL operated is being covered by CT Plus.

Unclear if this is the end of the entire business (which included private hire operations, National Express work and coach tours) or if it is just the bus operations which have been jettisoned by the receivers.
