Re: Sheffield consultations

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

I'm wondering if TM has lost those parts of their network and First will be providing the replacement services.?

Indeed, all largely positive, with the exception of the Lane Top, Ecclesfield Village and Chapeltown areas of Sheffield who loose the 1a with no replacement (Lane Top and Chapeltown still have the Stagecoach 1, but this is essentially a halving in provision for those areas).

I'm sure a Rotherham/Crystal Peaks - Sheffield Parkway - City Centre - University - Walkley service looks good on paper and probably makes for good vehicle utilisation, but has delays written all over it. Can't imagine there's that much cross-city traffic so surely for reliability purposes separate the Sheffield - Walkley leg out in to a separate route?

Notable also how the new 55/55a seems to be largely a carbon copy of the TM Travel 30 service (Crystal Peaks - Woodhouse - Parkway - Sheffield) and the new 75a runs over the top of the (tendered) TM 32 service between Northern General - Firth Park - Parson Cross - Foxhill. Wonder why First are deciding to go after some parts of the TM network?
