Re: Stagecoach Yorkshire 15/03

Not sure what version number it is, but blue front apart from the panel below the windscreen which is white and has the new Stagecoach logo applied there.? Headlight surrounds are black.

It is all rather "Black Prince" isn't it!

Stagecoach Yorkshire - revised service

From Monday, and in view of the Corona virus pandemic, services will operate to their Saturday timetables on all routes, with a few exceptions (those being the 107 in Rotherham, 7a, 58 and M92 in Sheffield, and the Matlock Town services where no Saturday service exists - these will operate as normal).

Other operators are expected to implement similar changes from Monday.

Virus-free.

Covid19 / Bus Service Reductions

Afternoon all

I gather both Stagecoach Yorkshire and First South Yorkshire (with presumably others to confirm the arrangements in due course) are to drop down to a operating a Sunday service (with additional am peak extras) on all days from Monday.

First have already parked up numerous vehicles - all the remaining B7Ls and the majority of the remaining B7TLs - for the foreseeable future. Likewise, Stagecoach have parked up a number of Tridents, MANs and E200s.

Stay safe everyone

In one respect, if you are going for a unified rebranding then yes, you should repaint anything that you have decided that should be repainted into the new livery.

However, you should have changed the logos on all the buses, regardless of the livery.

The list of "expemptions" to the new livery grows by the day. Not only have they claimed that they are "simplyfying and strengthing the brand" by replacing one livery with three liveries . . . . there are numerous examples now where even this muddled approach won't be applied.

The promises to impove the digital offering (website, app etc . . . .) hasn't happened. Gold livered Scania/E400s 15535 (VX59 JCZ) and 15611 (OU10 BHE) are now at Barnsley depot for use primarily on service X10 (Barnsley - Leeds) alongside 15609/10. Note Mon-Fri the X10 requires 3 vehicles, 2 of which stay on the X10 all day and the 3rd on the X10 during the am and pm peaks, with a round trip each on 57,59 and 66 in between.

Dart/Pointer 35236 (YN56 OMS) is currently in the process of receiving the new livery.

On order for later in the year are 18x long Enviro 200MMCs for Rawmarsh depot. Further details to be confirmed nearer delivery.

Stagecoach Yorkshire - allocation changes and coronavirus update

A bit of a bumper update - probably my last one for a while due to the current climate...

First up, recent repaints in to the new Stagecoach livery are Scania/E400s 15824/5 (YN12 GYO/P) and E200 36183 (YN60 FKU).? Currently in for painting is E200MMC 26030 (YX65 RBZ).

The recorded allocation changes for the 4 weeks ending 28th March 2020 (Period 12) were as follows:

22627 YN08 JHH RH to CD
22629 YN08 JFJ RH to CD
35262 YN56 SHJ CD to BY *
36071 SN56 AYF BY to CD
36986 SN63 YPJ CD to RH
36989 SN63 YPM CD to RH
36990 SN63 YPO CD to RH

* 35262 has yet to physically move from Chesterfield, and is unlikely to do so now for some time due to the current circumstances

Obviously since the end of the reporting period a large number of vehicles have been parked up and SORN as operations move to a permanent Sunday service (with a few enhancements) for the foreseeable future.

The following lists are the vehicles currently operational.? Everything else is parked up:

Barnsley (PVR reduced from 72 to 36): 10656-62, 15661-4/6, 19559, 22632/6/8, 26020-2/85-7, 27187/8/206, 28671-4, 36178/80/83, 37108/45, 37451-6, 47723/4/6/7.

Rawmarsh (PVR reduced from 50 to 21): 26023-33, 2675-8, 36988/90, 37086-91/98-105.

Ecclesfield (PVR reduced from 52 to 26): 15707-11, 36186-8, 36459, 36715-8, 36985, 39106-18, 47464/9, 47654.

Holbrook (PVR reduced from 42 to 25): 12101-7, 12166-77/9, 37606-15.

Chesterfield (PVR reduced from 80 to 45): 11120-5, 15190-2, 22554/5, 22612-4/27-30/35/43-7, 26081-4, 35229-33/61/2, 36071, 36444-7, 36991/3, 37181-6, 47320/2-5.

National Express unit (PVR reduced from 9 to 1): 54411/2

The above liable to change depending how long the coronavirus pandemic lasts.??

Much respect to the drivers still on the road, to the office/depot staff who have worked flat out to formulate and implement the temporary timetables and keep the wheels turning, and to the drivers who have stood down for the foreseeable.

Stay safe everyone

Ian?

Re: Stagecoach Yorkshire 20/02

Hi Chris

It's correct as far as I know.? I can't remember?the exact wording but local operating companies have been told that 'trusted and recognisable brands' (or words to that effect) can continue.? So, round this neck of the woods I'd class Pronto, InterConnect, the Seasiders and possibly the Humber Flyer and Humber FastCat under that banner.? Nationally there's others of course (Lakes, Cambridgeshire Busway being the obvious ones) and of course some where the livery is mandated as part of the contract (Chester Park & Ride for example).

Gold is a good question - is it a specific brand (not specific to a route, no in the sense that Pronto etc are route-specific) but is it a brand.... I'd say probably yes.

But as Paul has said all along, far from clear or concise!

Add to that, the livery has changed, twice, since it was launched and is not being applied consistantly across all companies, so will look great when buses start moving around.

Whether we like the livery or not its here to stay. You would think that if some of the older "trusted and recognisable" brands would be applied in a variation of the new livery.?

The more you think of the new livery to worse the roll out really is!

Stagecoach Yorkshire 06/04

There is to be a further reduction in services from Wednesday to meet the current (lack of) demand owing to Coronavirus.?

Those services currently running will be reduced largely to an hourly operation, with a few exceptions (those services already running a lower frequency will remain so, the 52/88/120 in Sheffield will be largely at a 30 minute frequency, and the X10 is reduced to 5 round trips per day).?

Services X1 (Chesterfield- Nottingham) and X6 (Sheffield- Doncaster/Sheffield Airport) are withdrawn until further notice.?
