ASL Merch
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi all! Looking forward to seeing folks at Nor'easter this weekend! Just wanted to let my YASL friends be the first to know that in the near future I'm opening an Etsy shop where I'll be selling various 3D-printed board game accessories, and many of my products will be ASL-related. ?In fact, I have already designed a phase/SAN/ELR tracker, some custom dice/accessory boxes, and counter trays for both Hozan and Raaco boxes. ?Other things are coming, I have more ideas, and I'm always open to suggestions? :) I will have samples of the above products with me at Nor'easter, both for sale and available for custom order. Please stop by my table and take a look! And if you can't make it to Nor'easter, I'll post my shop link here once it's open. Thanks |
Re: Question - LLMC/LLTC and Concealment Loss
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýAnother interesting fact. ?The original first printing of the ASL rules had "LLMC/LLTC¡± omitted in A12.141. ? This was added later to A12.141, however they did not update the Concealment Loss Chart. ?The list in A12.141 is exactly like the line in the chart, the difference being the ¡°LLMC/LLTC¡± reference. In my opinion, AH/MMP intentionally added it to A12.141, so I would favor that either LLMC/LLTC is a concealment loss regardless of passing/failing, despite the chart not listing it.

Re: Question - LLMC/LLTC and Concealment Loss
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThe shot completely missed the concealed units and only affected the unconcealed units (see context below). ? It was a DFPh shot that affected the unconcealed units but had not affect on the concealed units (off the chart), but the unconcealed 9-1 broke, meaning everyone in the location needed to take a -1TC (LLTC) including the concealed guys. ?My questions are specific to that of taking either LLMC and LLTC. ? Chart and A12.141 differ. so that is why the lawyers need to get involved. ?I checked the latest version of the chart. Thanks, ¡ª±Ê²¹³Ü±ô

Re: Question - LLMC/LLTC and Concealment Loss
I am at the hotel right now so no chart handy, but attacked resulting in a MC/TC is on that chart somewhere. On Wed, Mar 26, 2025, 4:06 PM Paul Chicoine via <Paul_Chicoine=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: Question - LLMC/LLTC and Concealment Loss
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThanks Carl, I might need new glasses¡ I don¡¯t see it on the chart, which is why I¡¯m asking. ? The chart doesn¡¯t list taking or failing LLTC but A12.141 has it listed as an example.

Re: Question - LLMC/LLTC and Concealment Loss
Go by the Concealment Loss table. The rules themselves list that as the go-to. I believe take a TC/MC is on there. On Wed, Mar 26, 2025, 3:58 PM Paul Chicoine via <Paul_Chicoine=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: Question - LLMC/LLTC and Concealment Loss
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI also found A12.141 Actions: ?LLTC/LLMC, attempts to entrench, set a Fire, Deploy, Recombine, make a Sniper Check or PF/MOL/ATMM check, rally a broken unit, engage in Clearance attempts, change CA, apply a leadership modifier to anything other than a PAATC, or place SMOKE grenades are examples of actions that cause loss of concealment.

Question - LLMC/LLTC and Concealment Loss
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi,Q1: Would a LLMC result in concealment loss for units that fail and break? Q2: Would a LLTC result in concealment loss for units that fail and become pinned? Context: In our scenario example, a DFPh shot affected the non-concealed units (including the leader who broke) and had no affect on the concealed units. According to the Concealment Loss Chart:

Hi Whit, is Joe Leoce coming as well? I will be there for the Saturday daytime round, if I have no other matchup, or they don't need me for the tourney, I would love to play you and/or your son, I should be there at 9AM or just after, I'm riding with Steve Johns that day. Nice to hear from you and Thanks for all the work you have done with Joe Leoce in the past, you guys are great, Vic.

Hey all!
Been a long while since I've seen any of you. I think the last Nor'easter I attended was in maybe 2017 or 2018 (when my oldest son was a year or two old). That son is now about to turn 9, and I have a second son who just turned 7. ?
I've used that time to mold my oldest son into a wargaming partner for life. And I think he's finally ready for a tourney, so I plan to make my return to the Nor'easter this weekend, with him in tow. I didn't get my act together early enough to pre-register or get a room, but barring any problems with the hotel or registering at the door, we plan to show up Saturday morning and spend the rest of the weekend there with him.
?
I won't be able to compete in the tourney, and will definitely spend a bunch of time playing ASL with my son, but would also love to find a game or two with some old friends who aren't in the running for the trophy and will be forgiving of my blunders after so many years without having my nose buried in the ASLRB.?

Re: Return to Nor'Easter... w/ new player in tow
Hi Whit. Congratulations on the burgeoning family :-). Registering at the door is no problem. The hotel room could be problematic, as the hotel is renovating and that caused the hotel drop dead date to be firm.? I would strongly recommend giving them a call. You won't be able to get the block rate, but hopefully something acceptable. Let me know how that goes please.? Thanks, Carl?
